Hey, Dennis! It's great to read you're back home!

Hope your physician is more competent & caring than the staff @ Humana hospital that you get the right treatment soon.

Message 623887 - Posted: 21 Aug 2007, 9:32:00 UTC - in response to Message 623827.

I wish to thank each and every one of you for your wishes and kind concern. I'm back home now and on my own medication and a bit doped up. Tomorrow I shall be seeing my own physician as soon as possible tomorrow morning (who was never called by the hospital). My heart condition was a result of a bout of extreme hyperstension. When the paramedics arrived my bp was 240/140 and my pain level of 8 on the 10 scale. Too make a very long story short I left the hospital after 30 hours against medical advice because in all that time I never once saw a physican except for two minutes when I first arrived, and knowing that I was diabetic, they never once even gave me any medication for that condition, which I need daily. The hospital I was sent to was one of the Humana group hospitals, profit before care...there was only one nurse in my ER wing and they were extremely short staffed everywhere. There was also something wrong when I had to keep swatting at a fly when they served me my first meal which was not diabetic. But not being seen or examined let alone not being informed, or having any communication by any physican was not what anyone could call medicine. I had a friend and his wife pick me up and I have another friend staying over to keep an eye on me until I can see my own doctor and get this resolved. Any bill from Sunrise Hospital is going to be forwarded to my attorney.

On a positive note... the fire department paramedics and ambulance crew were of the highest calibre, and I am very grateful to them for their professionalism.

Once again to you all...thank you.

Dennis

I'm glad to hear that you're ok :)

This is some serious stuff, don't miss the first opportunity to get more help. Don't let it wait.

Dennis

I am glad to see your fair, if somewhat narked and shakey, hand posting again.

Sorry for you about the hospital saga, and I hope your own doctor keeps a track and things settle down again

Welcome back, and follow the advice for the best!
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Good to hear you're back at it ace.

Your tale above sounds like one of Mike Moore's cases off his documovie "Sicko". So much for the healthcare system of the "wealthiest" country on the planet!

Live long and BOINC my friend.

Uh Oh. We had Humana health insurance for a couple of years. We were very happy when when got to change to a different health insurrer. I hope they don't give you another heart attack.

In any case, I am glad you are feeling well enough to get out of the hospital.

Hi Buddy!

It's great that you're out of that godforsaken hospital where they weren't doing anything for you.

You just relax a bit and take things easy. Just let us know if you need anything, okay?

Welcome Bach!!! (DOH! Me and my musicians!)

Check of Sunrise Hospitals ratings...especially patient safety practice...

Any way, my doctor has started me on beta blockers and if needed Nitro...I'll be going back in another week.

Basically, on many factors, they do not meet the criteria of the reviewers?

Those are self reportings...even with the fox watching the hen house, they are dismal.

I had an email from Monday DB. He wishes you the best & a speedy recovery! If he were here, he would do the same himself.

BTW Are those nurses Kenzie sent over got you all cleaned up? Those sponge baths kinda' take awhile.
