Interesting clips Mr Gray.

I saw the movie Sicko myself and remember the scenes about having a baby.

I have had two children on the National Health and had two very different experiences. Mainly because it was underfunded and run down in an effort to push forward a privatisation agenda and promote private health insurance. (In other words efforts were made to ensure that the National Health Service would not be able to compete with private health care).

There are two separate issues though when it comes to childbirth, one is the quality of the healthcare..and one is the politics of childbirth and who is in control..the woman giving birth or the doctors. So this also contributed to the unpleasant memories of giving birth to my first child where I was bullied by medical staff into having medical interventions I did not want and did not need.

The hospital was dirty..and I mean dirty (this was 12 years ago)..I won't go into details for fear of getting modded. The wards were unsecure..a woman in the bed next to me on the ward was beaten up by her boyfriend in the night when he got into the room without the staff knowing. I caught a life threatening infection while there and ended up back in hospital after giving birth. That was my first experience of childbirth on the national health.

Shortly after that the politicians realised that people wanted a better health service and the National Health Service once again became a priority for investment and improvement. The birth of my second child 5 years later was a totally different experience.

I asked for a home birth (I think you can understand why I did not want another hospital birth) and received one to one care with the same midwife through out my pregnancy. She came to see me for check ups in my own home.

Sadly...because of the way the labour progressed I had to go to hospital. The same hospital I was at years before was now cleaner. Extra security had been put in and with the support of my midwife I got the birth I wanted and it was a much more positive experience. The midwife actually drove me home a few hours after the birth (because this is what I wanted more than anything) and she continued to visit me at home daily to check up on me and the baby for 10 days afterwards.

None of this cost me a penny.

This one attacked me as I walked down the stairs on way to work recently....The alien egg implant removal charge was pretty steep. I'm just glad I didn't have to wait for the National Health Service. There were 15 people ahead of me all wanting 'involunatry parisitic removal'. I never got seen.

Look, man. All I know is it attached itself to my face and now I'm giving birth to alien tentacle babies, ok?

It's embarrassing enough as it is without you drawing attention to it.

It's ruinging my good looks and is making it difficult to keep up my sense of humor.

Even some of my most favored TFFE contacts refuse to talk to me anymore while I've got this cocunut crab affixed to my noggin........things can't get much worse than that.

The gov here in the U.S.A. complains about the cost of health care. But they just begged for an additional$190 billion for the wars; and they will get it without question. Who needs health care when we will kill you and put you out of your misery.

Cut the military budget and we would have plenty of $$ for health care. And if you are paranoid that the terrorists will get you here in the U.S.A, I'm sure some of that surplus savings could go to putting you on Prozac.

More doctors smoke camels than any other cigarette.

Old cigarette commercial.

After having watched the documentary Manufacturing Dissent on tv this night, I see Michael Moore as a manipulating and power struck hypocrite.

I can never watch any of his movies and other "documentaries" again without thinking that they are highly edited to be manipulating the issues.

Do the issues themselves seem ethical and worthy of debate, in your eyes?

From Michael Moore's premises (which this thread is about)? No.

So there are no gun regulation, medical, out sourced jobs, or 911 anomalies, or prejudice issues in our reality today?

I still assume your question is for me. Again, this thread is about Michale Moore's movie Sicko, it says that in the title. You started it yourself.

Does attacking the messenger mitigate the facts presented...perhaps you should
come to America and get seriously ill and find out first hand. I had no choice...the truth was forced upon me.

Getting good medical care in America is a craps shoot...with your life.
We just had another case locally where surgical scissors were left inside a patient during surgery.

...and even with insurance...just wait until you receive the bill.
...and if your sick for more than 120 days under the FMLA, you can
lose your job...then you can only get insurance under the COBRA act
for 18 months at your own expense. After that, you're out of luck.
Even if you could get insurance, all policies preclude pre-existing conditions
for at least two years.

No one is attacking the messenger. The attacks are focused on his incompetence, massive bias, and willingness to mislead his viewers at any cost.

Oh yeah, because it's not possible such things happen with socialized medicine. Once you get socialized medicine, the doctors cease making all mistakes.

Your editorializing aside, that wasn't the point. Her point was that she cannot trust Moore to present an accurate picture so that she could decide for herself. He'll Barbra Streisand her, just as he complains that people he doesn't agree with do to him.
Cordially,
Rush

And don't the opposition to his issues do the same thing?
