Warp drive possible through power i.e. speed or bending space time fabric i.e. some thing like quantum physics

Ok i say...when we build a hyper-space core...

like ? high artificial grafity core that can collapse the existing space and create a hyper space core . then how do you contain it. It is like inventing a universal solvent that can dissolve every thing

Hyperspace Technology
By integrating the 4th and 5th dimensions it is now possible to research a new kind of drive that is more economical and efficient.

Hyperspace Drive
By distorting space-time, the space in the immediate area of a ship is compressed, allowing long distances to be covered very quickly. The farther the hyperspace drive is developed, the greater the compression of space, which increases the speed of ships equipped with it (battleships, destroyers, and deathstars) by 30 % per level.

Zefram Cochrane 2030-2117

Zefram Cochrane invented warp drive in 2063, bringing faster-than-light travel (FTL) technology to humanity; although technology to travel faster than light was developed independently by other races before and since, it is Cochrane's contributions alone which are inextricably linked with warp drive in the culture of the United Federation of Planets, perhaps because his theories were so revolutionary and because Earth played such a prominent part in the Federation's formation. He was born in 2030 and was presumed dead after disappearing from Alpha Centauri in 2117.

Better yet, encourage the government to set up a lottery for it. Make the payout HUGE, say $20,000.000.00 Lots of money will come in and they can use it to help out the poor and for other good works.

It'll be a loooong time before they have to make the payout. By then, the $20 million will maybe buy a chocolate bar. LOL

To answer your question directly: Not for a very long time.

I say once our technology improves, say, another 20 - 30 years at least. On the bad side, perhaps we may never be able to establish contact.

Some of you may be interested in the realities and practicalities of "warp drive"--the NASA website below is an interesting read. Answers a lot of the questions on the likelihood that Earth is being buzzed by aliens as well.

Warp Drive When?

Thanks again to the poster here who helped me find it again.
