I don't think oil is worth fighting over. It's all going to run out one day and we will have to resort to alternative sources of energy. When that happens any war conducted today with the primary reason of seizing control of oil reserves would have been so much waste of time and lives.
Tony Blair is on his way out. But it remains to be seen whether Gordon Brown, if he succeeds him to office, will have different policies to his predecessor.

Maggie, we were horrified, and police in New York and other cities in the US worked closely with Scotland Yard and Interpol to stop the American supporters of the murders in Ireland. Another thing that differentiates the situation in Northern Ireland from that in Iraq is that the US, British and Irish governments were working to stop the terrorists there.

I have never been to America. You have a written Constitution right? We have something called an 'unwritten Constitution' which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me as I thought you either have a Constitution or you don't. The UK is regarded as a democracty, but I don't think it is as democratic as America. Our leader is still in power for over 10 years. I don't think your Presidents are allowed to remain in power for that long are they? The only way to get rid of them here it seems (bar a general election) is for them to come under pressure to go either by their Cabinet members or other MPs. That seems a rather shabby way of doing things.

Our President can only stay in office for 4 years per term, and a maximum of two terms for a total of eight years. Not quite the ten years you were speaking of, but in the case of some Presidents, far too long anyway.
