SETI Science once was first on the list, but IIRC the regulars there objected to being first and catcing all the first-time visitors, so Number Crunching got moved to first place. As I see it now, we're back to (1) Science, (2) Number Crunching. Perhaps this is Berkeley emphasizing that Science comes before Credit??? ;) ID: 355862 ·

When Science got moved down, we were in the throes of the shut-down of SETI-Classic, so had a lot of new (and distruntled) BOINC users. That's done, so the pounding of Science should be a thing of the past, even being at the top of the list. Give the Science its due and put it first. MJ ID: 355959 ·

Well, if crunching exclusively for SETI Beta right now means that I am no longer considered a part of SETI@home or permitted to post here, then I guess I must have missed a memo somewhere. I was under the impression that I was crunching the same work, contributing to the same master science database, as well as helping to test new applications that will be used here.
