Ok, So the new Seti is soon to become the standard seti.

Fair play!

All I want to know is, Where do I get the optimised versions for the new seti?

I dont want GFX. I want to crunch.

So, post here only the download locations for optimised seti/boinc clients, for the new version.

I dont want to know why it's being done. (I have been reading the forum, So I know already.)

I dont care about those who dont want it to change. Progress happens, like it or not.

I care only about having a good set of links for for the best, fastest, most optimised set of Enhanced "new seti" links there is.

Looks like 2 hosts already produced a client error on it though.

If you use 5.2.6 or later it should work.

Ah.
I'd just had a look at the network traffic graphs & other than a hiccup or 2 with the system the traffic level has increased significantly.

I will drop very soon as the server page is showing very few units ready to send.

Could be related to the tracking down of the cause of the corrupted Work Units. Malformed or missing headers (or something like that from memory).

Someone had a good question (out of a couple of very good questions) over at Q&P that I can't answer (yet) as my only SE result went up in smoke. ;)

Will SETI correctly crunch the 3 days or so of regular workunits I have in my queue before switching to the new processing mode?

Does Seti and Seti Enhanced switch apps every x amount of time (whatever you set for application switch time in your preferences)? Or does it follow the "list"?

Has anyone here with both results noticed yet?

From what I've seen so far, they just run in order as usual switching apps as and when required

I think not but it is reported that EDF is operating correctly, see post id=30472#296027

If you use 5.2.6 or later it should work.

You can add 5.2.2 to that.
I upgraded my WinXP system to 5.2.13 but was going to leave the Win98 system with 5.2.2 till the timer issue had been resolved. But it now has a couple of Enhanced Work Units to crunch as well.

I thought it was 5.2.8 or later. Using a different client will not prevent successfull crunching but the FLOP reporting will not work correctly and you may make wild claims for work done.

The 5.4.x client should be out shortly. Trying to get a cosmetic change in for CPDN so that mass participants do not abandon their current models.

Got me a couple of WUs and it seems to be working out alright. Just emptied the cache, deleted the app_info file and got some enchanced files right away.

Very short deadlines on the enhanced WUs though, only got four days. Machine went straight into EDF mode.
