OK I tried to link my OLD (Classic)Seti@home to my new Bonic Account.
I enter the info it requests and click GO, I get a return screen that says
"you must enter a email acount". BUT I DID eneter a email acount. GGGRRRRRRR.
I HATE THIS CRAP. If I entered a email account it should WORK.

PS I have know idea how I made this thread sticky..

All I can say is keep trying Mark. Make sure the e-mail address you enter is the one you used there, if it's different from your BOINC account. That's the problem I have, my addy at Classic is different from here and I cannot, for the life of me, remember my password there. Can't retrieve it because that addy is dead.

If you can get a copy of the last version of Clasic Seti@home software, install it run it for a few seconds, whilst you fill in your classic email addy. Stop it, go to file location and copy contents of user_info.sah into the box, on the page linked by MJK lower down.

Yet when I try to send them over to this new Bionic I cant. I do not have the clssic system installed anymore. Or do I still have the program. Yet when I go to the web page to put in all my information regarding my classic account email address, classic password and new seti@home key number. I get a message that tells me classic email address not found. But I can still login and get all my information under my email address and password that it says is non-exist. This new software really is a pain in the you know what. I just may have to pull out after 4 years of crunching. I hate to loose all my credits.

It's kind of a moot point at this point in time WK. Since Classic will be gone after a few more weeks, no sense in getting the password, won't do me any good anyway. Besides, I'm 100% BOINC and nothing else.... >:-) (-:<

When I did it, yesterday, the password that they showed and I used, was nothing like what I expected. Usually if programs/sites give me a password rather that allowing you to put your own choice in, I usually write it down in my diary, and/or store in a password protected zipped file. As I hadn't done this I assumed thst the password was one of my regular ones, but none of them had worked before.

I did it!
But I had to get the Usre_info File and upload it.
THe Password was not what I had put in. But when I used it, SETI said it had linked my folders..

hi i thought id lost all my credits to but not so.all my old stats are all there but it just lets other persons know what you have done for units in the classic mode. all that cpu time :D 24-7 for 6 years ok i found that when you do your thing stting up this new program all said and done it takes a while for it to process all the info it seems to put you in the back of the bus!... i tried everything and no units or graphics ect. but then i thought id give it a chance and just let it run :D and over night i checked it out and wow! everything was there and working so i think i would just let it do its thing after a person fills in all the areas needed." give it a chance "

This page uses the user_info.sah file from your Classic SETI folder to extract your Classic password. With that information, your BOINC account key and your current email address, you can go to this page and link the Classic to the BOINC. Use the third section on this form.

Trying not to whine but I was really proud of my piddling 2389 credits.

You did everything correctly and you are getting credits for the new seti/BOINC setup. Your Seti classic credits won't be melded in, the only place you will see them is on your account page.

If you look under your name it says you joined Sept 16, 1999.

It is also in your account data. So you have been a seti cruncher for a long time and hopefully for an even longer time to come.

But if I were to purchase one of the certificate frames, for instance, would my certificate show the total number of credits from both systems, Classic and BOINC?

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but I'd really LOVE if my BOINC totals showed all my credits TOTAL on the screensaver page I look at most often.

What you put inside the frame depends on what you choose from here (scroll down) as a printout. This can be Boinc or Classic only or both.

Today it would show only those through March. Once Classic closes, it will show them all. Note that the frame is just that, a frame - you can get the certificate at any time. So you can buy the frame now and print a certificate every month to put in it, to keep it up to date, if you like...
