> 1) "Anybody who thinks we didn't go to the moon is a total moron. Moon hoax > believers should be rounded up and put in camps." > 2) "So, you are so fixated on this 'conspiracy theory' that you are unwilling > to hear from anyone that is in a possible position to refute it?" > 3) "Kio, Do you belong to the Flat Earth Society too!!" > 4) "Another one? Why do people join the SETI@home project, then immediately > come to these message boards to post whatever rubbish leaks out of their > head?" Ah, I see where you are coming from now. Perhaps my hide is so thick now that I didn't see these as flames (directed toward Kio) as much as statements of . . . philosophy? |

None of this makes any sense....... If we didn't go to the moon it would be the greatest hoax yet and we probably would still be using 286 machines..... It's a stupid premise and should be Plonked............... Just my 2 cents |

Kio, I don't know what part of the United States you are from, I did not find it in your profile, but here In Virginia, I have the luxury of being very close to The Goddard Space Flight Center, and the Smithsonian Institute. Both of these facilities could fulfill any questions you might have about any kind of hoax involving our moon landing. At Goddard, they have every picture taken by the command module and the LEM posted, even the blurry ones. They are in numerical order along with the negative film. There are over 400 pictures on one wall. They also have a Original "drive unit" that held pictures on display that is still in it's original condition, however the data has been transfered over to drives that people can actually view. In the Smithsonian, they have the collection of the moon rocks, and moon dust and the pictures you discussed about what they left behind. Has the LEM takes off from the Lunar service, the camera pans out catches the flag and some equipment left behind. I am not sure what the equipment is, but you can clearly see it. The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum has had a tremendous collection including a LEM on display. It is a inspiring place to visit, so if you are local or planning to be in the Virginia, D.C. area, look me up...I'll show you around! Regards, Rocky Cudd edited for spelling www.boincsynergy.com |

There was a cold war going on. You > have to have a signal to track and though, again, I have no information to > support it I doubt NASA made a public or private disclosure of the frequencies > and encryptions they used to monitor and track the flights. > Kio, if you watch the footage of the first landing you will see that the lander as it was coming down it was also moving sideways, this was so the astronauts could change where they were going to land. You can here that the astronaut in charge of the lander did in fact fire the landing thrusters as I believe they were heading for a landing on a slope. The sideways movement accounts for the dust under the lander not looking very disturbed. I have just finished my last night shift so my brain is not working very well so I can’t remember the name. But over here in England is a radio telescope which I think was the only one at the time that could track the landers, they have the original printout graph where you can see the height of the lander decreasing until it got close to the ground then it went back up slightly then started to descend again. I don’t think the frequencies were a secret and they didn’t need any permission from NASA to track the lander. There was a good TV program over here a wile ago going through the moon landing conspiracies and proving them wrong with demonstrations and experiments rather than people just explaining that they are wrong. Did we go to the moon? Yes or No. What are your thoughts? Yes we did! No doubt about it! Anyone who thinks otherwise is a deluded fool! Anyone who thinks they have proof that we didn't is a bigger deluded fool! Just my 2c worth. Live long and crunch! Paul (S@H1 8888) And proud of it! |

Thats right - Armstrong and Aldrin were headed for a large area full of big rocks so Neil took manual control to make sure the Eagle cleared them and got to a safe area, Neil missed his intended landing site by 4 miles. Pete Conrad who landed the second lunar mission got within 200 yards of his intended target - lessons were learned from the first landing. |
