I am on the side of the road waiting for AAA to bring some MB's to fill the tank. Until then, nothing going on here.

I am getting mixed results. My fastest box gets:

6/2/2015 3:21:00 PM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
6/2/2015 3:21:00 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU
6/2/2015 3:21:01 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
6/2/2015 3:21:01 PM | SETI@home | Project has no tasks available

The slower boxes are getting both CPU and GPU work. Go figure!

Somebody must be in the lab working on the SSP. Sure looks different now. Don't know if I like the new layout or not. At least they've loaded some new tapes and are generating work again. Hope that I get lucky on the GPU work since I've been out since this morning, working for other projects now to keep them busy.

I have always wondered why .... The slippers can't help each other out. They are working on the same files, same database, same network, so why can't they share tasks?

Say if MB is under 100k, AP splitters can lend some help. If AP needs help (rarely) MB splitters could help.

It's just an app right? A few tweaks to the scheduler (or what computer assigns tasks) shouldn't be hard to do.

You do an AP now, next will be a MB, then back to AP.

Based on how my queues are filling, you either receive a large number of tasks or none. I have a lot of 0 tasks available with a very few large number of tasks sent in between all at once. Perhaps when the SETI servers have their ready to send queues drained, they should limit the number of tasks sent for any one request to a lower amount such as 6. It might be distribute the work a little more evenly.

Well, I think the difference between this and the normal post-maintenance backup is that we had run out of files to split at least 8 hours before maintenance began. So we have 1/3 greater demand which the splitters are struggling to satisfy. No APs of course, but my 3 machine caches were pretty well filled to the max (100 per CPU/GPU) within about 6 hours, so there is progress. Who gets, and who doesn't is of course luck of the draw ...

You can say that again. I can't get a single new WU on all 8 of my machines.

As soon as I posted that, I got 7 WU's on one host. A host that usually has 500.
