impossible (adj.)
1) Incapable of having existence or of occurring.
2) Not capable of being accomplished.

The fish exists. The fish occurred. The fish has been accomplished.

Therefore, not impossible.

Seeing as it came out Novemeber 7th. Id say wait for the peer review to debunk it.
And even if they agree doesnt mean I.D. did it. Just means nature does pick a winner now and then by chance.

This reminds me of all the old stories about how "science" proved bees can't fly. What it really meant was "science" at the time didn't understand how bees fly.

The research was valuable enough to be supported by three grants from the National Science Foundation and another grant from the Office of Naval Research.

Read the PNAS study. It says nothing about intelligent design. What it does show is that experimental data (i.e. how the fish moves) can lead to new understanding of the mechnaics of motion. Just because the fish does something we didn't think was efficient does not prove that it must have been designed. Perhaps ID supporters would like to actually go out and generate some data to favor their hypothesis, rather than searching desperately in other peoples work for some hint of ID.....

If the fish achieved it, then it can't be impossible. Poor title...

To the rest of you,

This is a poltics thread. Your lack of understanding about science is not welcome in the politics thread.

Please stay on topic and that would be the poltics of this link.

What does that mean?

Ah, a man who gets it. We can't speak of the science. This has been moved to politics.

;-) +1! LOL!

Except the research had nothing to do with ID...

It proves Intelligent Design. ;-)

We have all agreed this really isn't a topic for science, and I'm convinced it is not really a topic for politics. Can we start a sub-forum for rainbows and unicorns? It might fit there.

read the actual article that this tripe was quoted from... Nothing written makes mention of ID. See here's the problem, Scientists discover something about nature and ID enthusiast shout that they've just shown How ID WORKS. Rubbish. pure rubbish.

Let's also not forget that the article was not about creationism. it was written to show have the side to side or even up and down motions used in locomotion allow animals to move and change direction rapidly. Hardly a representation of a paper on ID. Reading more into what a scientist writes is only a fools game especially when once again the readers scientific knowledge is poor at best and ignorant at worst
