Any insects that make it into my house have to deal with my upgraded electric fly swatter.
Took out the puny 10mF capacitor it came with, replaced the two AA cells with two PP3 9v batteries, and wired in a 1F rapid-discharge capacitor.
Made it a little heavier than before, but one touch can kill anything up to a medium sized dog.

Posting after a short nap, yeah the knee still smarts some from the fall, mainly the skin, the knee joint is getting better, thankfully the fall was on to carpet.

Thanks Julie and TL. The knee can bend now with less pain and that's a plus.

The Park maintenance people just came out here and worked on installing some new weatherstripping on the front door, so the bugs on one front are now I think, defeated and I heard from them that the new park owner wants to get all 3 or 4 mobilehomes ownership into the parks name, so I'm not alone in that regard and the guys a Newbie Park Owner, but He's willing to learn and that's very good, We all say here good riddance to the old cheapskate owner.

To charge that capacitor quickly you need to increase the current capability of the battery supply. PP3's don't do that, increase the AA's to qty 4 and use re-chargables, their internal resistance is lower.

Whoo. When I wasn't actually working, I spent more time than usual in NC today. Now I can go home in 5 minutes.

Severe t-storm watch for the area. Actual rain on the north side of Milwaukee, about 100 miles away and not moving this way.

Picked up the car yesterday. Doesn't drive any better, but I'm not sure it was supposed to.

Vic: gotta be careful when you weigh as much as we do. Your knee looks an awful lot like mine. So does your floor.

Simon: have fun with that.

Thanks, I fell on a section with carpet and thick padding, that normally I can get down on My knees on without the knees hurting, the knee's only swollen a bit and the skin is scratched, I'll live, now it's a dull throb.

Oh and I could lose power again, as another anvil is forming in the sky, just what I needed more rain.

I bought two tubes of GE White silicon caulk and the war on the bugs is down to 1 front, as half the enemy has been defeeted*, all thanks to reinforcements from the park, the moths will just have to wait until another say as My knee has called for a truce and the rain might keep them out for a bit.

I did find 2 moths, killed one for sure(splash 1) and the other I saw drop, I'll look again later.

And what's this? The moth has jet propelled Fly Air support...

* run, it's a pun...

Actually the floor where I took the pic is not where I fell, there it's thick white carpet and padding, the type I can get on My knees on and not normally be in any pain, except for getting up, that's a horse of another color.

Todays driving:
Circle K(gas $3.699 for 87), Chase, Check in2 Cash, Chase, Vons, Home Depot, Stater Bros and then home, now that's efficient, not to mention HOT and muggy, yuck!

Next Month It'll be like so:
Circle K(gas $3.699 for 87), Chase, Check in2 Cash, Vons, Stater Bros and then home.
As I will not go back to get another loan, this month I had to do so, next month, not a chance.

I don't have any carpeting. It's all hardwood except the kitchen and bathroom, which are vinyl. And the basement is bare concrete. (Well, there's a room-size Oriental rug in my bedroom, but most of it is covered by my bed and my junk pile, and I've worn a hole through the exposed part.)

The storms did indeed come this way, with a vengeance. Clouds up to 60,000+ feet, huge wind gusts, huger amounts of rain, hail. That's all up north, it's just getting started here. Cooled down nicely, though, from a record-tying 96 to low 70s. Haven't lost power yet, but I'm holding off on running the dishwasher just in case.

If I had gone to the gas station, it would probably have been 3.759 at Thornton's; that's what it was last night when I drove by.

Aaaand it sounds like the storm has quit already.

Well, there's still a lot of thunder and lightning out there, not close enough to be scary, but close enough to see the occasional flash and hear the rumbling... Okay, and sometimes the windows rattle. Not much rain since the initial burst, though. I went ahead and ran the dishwasher.

So far it's just clouds here...

I did use some of the new silicon caulk in the master bedroom closet on the right side, that's sealed up tight now, but I'm going wait a while to do the left side as I started sweating like niagara falls while I was in the closet and I think I need to open the tube up some more as it isn't flowing very easy.
