Winning as another warm summer Sunday draws to a close. Temp just dropped under 80F. Supposed to drop down to 65F tonight, only rise to 94F on Monday. Cool shower before bed, I think. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Popped into the Uni to run a couple of long NMR experiments while the machine is quiet, found that the roof sprang a leak during last night's rainstorm and the computer room is three inches deep. Fortunately, it all seems to have leaked from one crack in the middle of the ceiling, away from all the PCs, which are up on tables, so they've survived. The AFM in the next room was also leaked on, but the cover was in place, so the delicate electronics are unaffected. Edit: AFM is an Atomic Force Microscope, an incredibly sensitive instrument which can just about pick out individual atoms on a surface. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

grmbl grmbl whadamidoingupthisearly...? grmbl ping. That's tempting. But I should go work on sifting through my grandma's house before we sell it... Ah, I think one little nap first won't hurt. Just so you don't use a laptop on the bed where it can catch fire, like this one did... Nope, saw a story on that, thought I'd pass it along... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
