I recently had to fill out an 'equal opportunities' questionnaire (the type that seem designed to make one feel guilty for being white, middle-class, British and heterosexual) for the university, the gender box had the following options:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Transgender
  • Neutral
  • Other


Now the first three are fair enough, however i'm unsure what neutral might be, and what is there left to warrant 'other'?

No, a transsexual has had a sex change operation but a hermaphrodite is born with a male and female sex organ.
