Message 1399732 - Posted: 6 Aug 2013, 19:50:23 UTC - in response to Message 1399702.

Dave, knowing how particular you are, the Koala wish to know what particular tea you wish to have employed in the production of your iced tea?

Darjeeling is fine. Haven't had Earl Grey in years (that I'm aware of), so I don't know if I like that. I didn't as a kid.

I just know I don't like the tea they serve at Giordano's Pizza or at Popeye's Chicken. (I'm not especially fond of their chicken either, but the chicken waffle tenders with honey maple dipping sauce are intriguing and the blackberry cream cheese pie sounds damn good.)

It's from A Fistful of Datas, the episode where they tried to set up Data to be a backup to the ship's main computer and a glitch... no wait, in that one the replicators would only make Spot's cat food. The sausages are from Cost of Living where some alien parasite was eating the ship and caused the replicators to malfunction. It's the one where Mrs. Roddenberry had several nude scenes with Brian Bonsall, who was 10 at the time. (Hmm, Brian has the same birthday as me, just 15 years younger.)

Observed on the bus this morning:

*Two girls, late teens, sat in front of me reading in the Metro (a free newspaper) a story about that synthetic burger made in Holland.*
"Why would they like need to grow meat in a lab, can't they just like plant more cows or something?"
"I know right, that's like so unnatural, i'd never eat any thing so artificial!" *offers other girl a Starburst*
"I wouldn't eat it, i'm like vegetarian, so i only eat like chicken and that."

And to think we allow these people to vote!

I hear and see that every day.

"So she went .... and I was like ..... so I goes ......"

Welcome to 21C Britain.

They all speak pigeon English, are as thick as two short planks, and think they are normal. We shoudn't allow these people to breed, let alone vote .....

Isn`t this a little bit impolite ?

I think Simon was less worried about the language than the obvious lack of intellect and education.

I do miss the Metro newspaper. The funny stories and that bit they used to run whre people could have their say.

Germany has general elections coming up. Don't tell me about allowing people to vote.

I'm afraid the truth has a tendency to be impolite.

That doesn`t necessarily mean we need to tell.

Depends. It's not a good idea to tell somebody built like Arnold Schwarzenegger what exactly you think of his rightwing stance.
A politician needs to be told how much of an idiot he is every day (he's going to ignore it anyway).

Sometimes you just need to be impolite.
politely ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.

Now, is that sociology or are we getting political? *ponder*

The two frequently intersect.

I do miss the Metro newspaper. The funny stories and that bit they used to run whre people could have their say.

I only read it to make my list for when the revolution comes.
