Exciting news from yesterday. I'm not from Britain, but it's good news!

It's a BOY! Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to healthy baby and future King weighing 8lb 6oz at 4.24pm with proud Prince William by her side

An overjoyed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are waking up to their first full day as proud parents of a ‘beautiful’ baby boy, as Britain and much of the world continues to celebrate the birth of a future king.

The couple’s son was delivered at 4.24pm yesterday in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington weighing a bouncing 8lbs 6oz and with his proud father looking on.

Royal baby: what the British papers said

News that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to the future king has been celebrated on the front page of every paper in Britain.

I am so happy to hear of the safe arrival of the royal baby. I think they should call him Jeffrey. King Jeffrey the First.

The Royal Family tree

George is the favourite at odds of 9/4

My money is on Richard for the name of the new royal baby. We could do with a another Lionheart.

Chances are he'll be given about 9 names, so the odds of guessing is reasonably high.

My guess is Arthur will be one of them.

OK.
I must confess to being ignorant about this.

And no offense taken, please.

Would this make him King George.....
King Alexander.......
Or King Louis?

Or would it be his choice later in life?

As I said, I apologize if the answer is obvious.

I am not not British.......and I will again apologize for my stateside friends causing Chris's original thread to be abandoned.

I think it is quite wonderful that the British should find such joy in this simple, blessed event.

Surely, it would not be so here in the states.

If he ever becomes King as it currently stands, he'll be George VII.

He does not have to use George, as in the previous George VI was actually Albert Frederick Arthur George.

True, but based on the family history, I'll lay odds it'll be George VII.

When Queen Elizabeth II was asked what she would be called as monarch, she supposedly replied with, "My own name, of course—what else?"

I wondered if the Royal couple would step out of the box and also go for Richard
or possibly John and if not then George. I listened to a chap, an Queen's ex- press
officer who thought they might go for Albert....I thought to my self, "Your having
a laugh mate no wonder your the Queens ex-press officer"

When Queen Elizabeth II was asked what she would be called as monarch, she supposedly replied with, "My own name, of course—what else?"

That's most probably because her father, King George, took George as his regal
name rather than his actual proper first name.
