I will say though, I really do love all of this bandwidth. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

9 MB splitters working? IIRC, the splitters are capable of splitting 2 channels at once (maybe even 3). Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Wow.. so somebody really doesn't like APs on their GPU.. I had something like that happen to me and I almost cried. I love having APs on my ATI/AMD card and then, suddenly, a computer screw-up. Now, I'll never understand why sometimes if the driver "goes missing," BOINC or the application says that the GPU is missing and suspends work, while at other times it says I don't have a usable GPU and dumps the work. (without fail, I read this message on a monitor connected to the GPU that "isn't there." Aren't driver problems great!) BTW, getting ready for v7 I reset everything having COMPLETELY forgotten that you can't DO that with Keplers. So, in the meantime, I've set NNT to keep from trashing any more work. If we don't get v7 this week, I'm going to be very disappointed. The servers --- remember this is a thread about servers ---- downloading the stock applications again was slow compared to downloading work. Real slow. Probably nothing to worry about... |

It seems to be necessary for me to once again repeat: Seems to be since Friday the AP Splitters are NNT. NNT=No New Tapes ;-)) http://setistats.haveland.com/ap_results.html |

That's because the APs have already been split from the loaded tapes. Each tape is split twice, once for the APs and once for the MBs. The AP splitting process is much faster than the MB process so its normal to run out of APs well before MBs. Now, I'll never understand why sometimes if the driver "goes missing," BOINC or the application says that the GPU is missing and suspends work, while at other times it says I don't have a usable GPU and dumps the work. Whenever I restart my Win7 box, Boinc always starts up and tells me the GPU is missing. I have to go to File>Exit, then start Boinc again, usually twice. It's a minor thing, but it's annoying. I guess that's one of those things they call a First World problem. [edit] I'm slightly amazed that this is the first post in this thread in over 47 hours. Maybe everyone has set NNT to prepare for V7? I'm on my backup project as of last night seems like all my projects have major changes at the moment. |

Maybe everyone has set NNT to prepare for V7?Not yet, but I have turned off cpu work fetch in the project preferences. Will take 2 days to drain the cpu tasks. Will keep getting gpu work until I see availability of v7 - usually only have 5 or 6 hours worth of gpu tasks anyway. This was really a short weekly maintenance, ~ 16:45 - ~ 18:10 UTC. In a few minutes the new SAHv7 apps/WUs roll out? ;-D * Best regards! :-) * Philip J. Fry, team seti.international founder. * Optimize your PC for higher RAC. * SETI@home needs your help. * |

This was really a short weekly maintenance, ~ 16:45 - ~ 18:10 UTC. Yeah, strange... I actually expected, that they will make a longer outage and switch to v7 during that time and not later while the project is running. |

This was really a short weekly maintenance, ~ 16:45 - ~ 18:10 UTC. Not according to the timetable which Eric posted last Thursday. Keep an eye on the applications page for us, please, and let us know what you see? Then I needn't bother, and I can go out for a nice meal. And have a night's sleep. And maybe go for for a relaxing walk tomorrow morning. And have some lunch. All before we expect anything to happen. |

Whenever a kernel update means I have to restart Ubuntu 13.04 Linux I have to restart the boinc-client after boot (as root, I am using the Ubuntu-supplied boinc) to get the GPU to show up. An OS-independent pattern here? |

I notice the PFB splitters are still extrememly limited in their output. Just a few shorties in the mix, and the ready-to-send buffer plummets, yet the splitters still only plod along at 30/s. Grant Darwin NT |

Would've been nice to have an official post on the Front Page or a News post by Eric or Matt about the change before it happened instead of all this "if it happens" stuff. |
