Not that we really need to start a new thread now, but I just feel like it.

Upload server is definitely having problems today.

Scheduler isn't doing much better.
And then when it does respond- "No tasks sent" or "Project has no tasks avaiable" is the usual response.
*deep sigh*

EDIT- and when i do get some work allocated, i can only get a couple of WUs at a time. I could use a couple of thousand.

Inbound network traffic is climbing again- retry while you can!

EDIT- forget it, it's borked again.

I think the yellow feathers have been moonlighting,

as a model. LOL

But to keep on track, with a bit of button bashing my uploads cleared and I got some work.

Go on, you can do it. Uploading at 3.19KB/sec, downloading at between 0.19KB/sec and 2.15KB/sec. Yay! :-)

Rather interesting choppiness on the upload bandwidth shown on the Cricket.

That saw-tooth pattern is always a sign of a rough time.

I pressed the Retry-button on my top-most task in the Transfers tab a couple of minutes ago.

It responded with a project backoff of 10 hours. Now it is down to 9 hours 30 minutes.

I guess there will not be any more tasks today.

Slowly going up. Apparently reporting the uploaded tasks is quite easy.

Now select all your downloads and try again, and in five minutes (after DNS has switched to the other download server) try again.

Everything appears to work, no problems downloading, reporting and
uploading.
Sometimes a number of retries are necessary, but it gets tru.
When downloading 10-20KByte is a normal speed for SETI.

HMM not here! Downloads are as slow as normal but uploads are slower. I have hundreds of uploads waiting, doesn't matter how often I retry, maybe 1 goes through every two minutes.

My BOINC have problems to upload and download easy WUs at SETI@home and -Beta (since a few days).
A few retries are needed for complete.

And .., the last WUs at -Beta was download errors, because of:
<message>
WU download error: couldn't get input files:
<file_xfer_error>
  <file_name>xxxxx</file_name>
  <error_code>-224</error_code>
  <error_message>permanent HTTP error</error_message>
</file_xfer_error>
</message>

Itz crazee man crazee.....

This morning I looked at the number of tasks in the queue for my main cruncher - exactly 2000 pending, a little low, but nothing too far adrift to worry about. This evening I get in from work and have a quick look, and scroll down, and down, and down the list of tasks being downloaded. And the queue was in something like a 4 hour back-off... Time for a quick look at the number of tasks pending - it is now just shy of 2900!!!! I guess during the day the servers have burped me about 1000 tasks - allowing for the approx 100 I would expect to be done during the "working" day.

Now that's just plain crazeeee. OK a fair few are shorties for the GPU, but most look as if they are "fairly normal"

Oh well, such is the logic of BOINC and the servers

Uploads still taking an age, but at least they are struggling through just now

Indeed, it's been a while since I stared moaning again but after 4 days of only shorties (who take less time to process then to download) my cache is down to only 5 days of work on my main rig... Can't remember being this low since before the summer.

Ah well, the boys are probably sorting things out as I write this - as it's monday morning in California - so let's just wait and see.

No hard feelings :-) it's a volunteer project and the work they pull off at the lab with the resources they have is just fantastic.

I can track batches of shorties that my 24 core box is processing via its UPS load stats. It's only about a 2% difference drop in power when running shorties, but at that machines power level it is apparent.

What software are you using to monitor the UPS?
I bought a couple of cheap 1400VA UPSs & the software that came with them was crap.
