Yesterday marked the passing of another feline who had a loose association with S@H. I dreaded yesterday quite literally for years, and it absolutely lived up to my worst fears. Boo, a puss of indeterminate age was finally euthanased having battled through numerous medical 'challenges' during his 9 year stay here; liver disease finally got this once abandoned puss who decided he'd rather like to move in. Needless to say, being a puss he didn't wait for us to finish building the house before doing so. Forcing us to come on site daily during what was a very dark period meant he was instrumental in the house's completion, just as if he had been a bricky, sparky, plumber or joiner - since we had to check on him daily. I will dearly miss him for for this alone - not to mention the lovely warm little body hunckering down under the quilt, or the feel or his little feet as he quite literally walked across my throat in the middle of the night when he decided he needed a snack. So many fond memories.

This hugely affectionate little creature who liked nothing more than lying in the daisies in summer, or in front of the wood burner in winter will be greatly missed. Suddenly, this house has a rather large hole in it. Maybe my building wasn't quite as good as I thought it was.

RIP Boo, we did our absolute best for you - really we did.

As a kid once said, there is a reason pets do not have to spend as much time on this earth to learn what it is to love others without any need to do so.

They already know how.

That is why they do not have to live as long as we do.\\

I am trying to address the impending loss of my dear Squirrel........
I know it's coming. She has been by my side for almost 18 years.
Kitties don't often live that long.

It's really hard when you know it's coming.

Uhh, Boo loved you, obviously.
She was as loved as my Tigger kitty I lost at only at a little over 5 years old.

And some wonder why I wax about my love of cats.

There is no other creature on this earth that will kiss you when you go to bed at night, scratch your back all evening, and still call you their lover in the morning.

That is a kitty.

Meow, our dear friend. We shall see you soon on the Rainbow Bridge.

For all kitties that must leave us before their time......
Which is alllllllllllways.

I know it's an odd fit.....
but, it's the old Harmonicats..........

I have lost one.......
Another is soon to proceed me.
I am gonna get real wrecked over her.
Just don't know how I am gonna handle it.

A couple of months, a couple of days, she is 17 going on 18 and as happy as a lark.........gonna be a hard fall when she goes.

Gets her special kitty kibbles every day, with her little med crushed up/.
I know every day if the gurl is hungry or not.

She is absolutely as active as a kitten at 17.....maybe that means she needs more thyroid meds......sigh... not a half quart of IV fluid a day.

I just don't know if I could do that again......not after Tigger. Kept her going for 9 months tho.........every day, half a bottle of IV fluid.. for nine months, every day. And she cried every time......have a freakin' clue how hard that is to do to a kitty??????????? Even when YOU know it is to keep her alive??????///

No, I don't think many of you do.

Maybe some had a clue. Many obviously did not know just how much I cared for kitty. I really should not have to explain that much. Now you know.

I lost 2 dogs, that was also very painful. Gonzo died of a kidney crisis and Sopor died of uterus cancer. They both were only 4 years old.

For whatever consolation it offers.......but it is true, it seems.

The saying goes that our companion animals don't have to hang around with us longer than we might like because they have learned all they need to know about love and life when they are born.

And so, they can travel on sooner that we should like.
Joel sang about it.....kinda. Explains why I am not dead yet.......LOL.

Very sad news Area 51.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER...

Sorry for your loss, and I still miss my little tow Shih-Tzus lost last year - Coriander last July and Sophie a fortnight after Christmas. At least they lead to another 4 rescues - a mum and 3 of her 10 puppies who will be 12 months old next month.

I think we have gotten a lost one, very mischievous, back with our girl Shih-Tzu puppy - Corrie.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

I have more than a few 'bridge kitties'.....share them with Lori and hers.

They are no comparison to those still left here.
But, a great bit of hope for a life yet to come.

To all kitties passed from our current lives.........
Get 'em all, kitty.....
God can sort them later.
