Posting without the Olympics for another 2 years...

There's the Paralympic games in a fortnight or so.

That's never been on TV here I don't think, NBC shows the Olympics and only what they want, NBC owns the broadcast rights to the Paralympic games and sits on the rights, meaning no broadcast by them or anyone else, I saw intros to this sport or that sport, but nothing else, not even any Archery, I did see useless types of gymnastic using ribbons and fancy hula hoops(Rhythmic Gymnastics, that's a sport? Gawd they'll display anything if it has Women in it).

Well I don't much about what I see as dancing and not sports...

In any case NBC after the closing ceremonies just sends their people home I think since NBC won't Televise the Paralympics, nor will they allow anyone else outside of the UK to do so either, Change.org has a Petition which has 13 people signed up that would like to see the Paralympics on TV and not just on the News...

A brief respite for a fortnight then it all starts again ...... :-)))

Minus the TV coverage in the states, NBC has already went home with their tail between their legs...

So it would seem Vic, we are quite surprised at that over the pond ..... Still, we'll leave it there, as this is the Cafe.

Agreed on all counts.

Still the Games were great, I enjoyed seeing the Olympics and the UK.

I love Fibre-Optic broadband.

The block i'm living in has a Virgin Media connection, shared among the 25 rooms. However, being the middle of summer, the students are all on holiday, so i'm the only one using it.

Downloading some updates:

That's a little over 48 meg. It's probably capable of faster but my PC is the rate limiting factor here.
375.4 megebytes in just over a minute, win!

Just walked outside. Ouch it's 106f out there. I can go back into my office but there's about 700 guys and gals out there working hard to supply clean renewable energy.

Maintenance note. My recording computer has a serious malfunction. Recommend it either be corrected or scrapped. Compute.
