3-6-9 the goose drank wine...... Winning after a great evening celebrating recipients of the Navy Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Wounded Warriors helping others recover and cope with life in the civilian world. I was honored just to be in the same room with them, and they were thanking ME for my service. God Bless Us, every one. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Saturday was a full-on win! Sold my old van for $5250 cash!!!!!! We attended our first local Roller Derby show last night and had s BLAST. Several old college friends either skate or are somehow involved with the team so it was great catching up. Today we're treating ourselves to an IPAD3! |

I know I am sleepy when I open this dialog and forget to post. Central CA to NorCal from what I've seen on the local TV News, I'm just staying inside. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I know I am sleepy when I open this dialog and forget to post. Might be home in time to observe it. Last one I remember was in 1991 or 92, when I was stationed at SuBase Pearl Harbor. We took turns using the welder's masks to watch. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

I know I am sleepy when I open this dialog and forget to post. That's the area that will see the max eclipse. In your area you will see the sun 8-85% covered. |

I know I am sleepy when I open this dialog and forget to post. Still I don't have anything like a welders mask or even goggles, so I'll stay inside, besides it's 92F(33C) outside currently and the predicted high today is supposed to be 100F(38C). I know I am sleepy when I open this dialog and forget to post. You don't need a welders mask. Take two pieces of paper, poster board works best, but any heavy paper will do. Take a pin and poke a whole in one. With your back to the sun hold the paper with the pin hole closer to the sun than the other. Project the image of the sun on to the paper without the hole. You will need to adjust the spacing until the sun comes into focus. Here is one made from an oatmeal box. The focus is hit or miss on this one. Works great, there are even commercial solar scopes which are essentially the same thing. |
