Message 1123136 - Posted: 30 Jun 2011, 22:57:09 UTC - in response to Message 1123069.

130hp for the 1999 Escort zx2 Hot Coupe, sport on trunk lid(a 2yr only model run) 2.0L i4 engine 4spd automatic and K&N air filter + K&N oil filter w/Royal Purple 5w30 motor oil vs 190hp for Orion RS and a 3spd auto, I think I could keep up, I get 26mpg city and at least 33mpg hwy mileage. But then 2004-2010 V6 Mustangs are about the same hp as the Orion RS of yours.

Where'd you get 3 speed auto from, its a 5 speed manual, no power sapping torque converter here. K&N air filter without retuning will give 1 extra horsepower if you're lucky.
Mustang might be the same power but they're considerably heavier, the Orion only weighs 1050 kg.
Oh and it does 40 mpg.

I mentioned the 3 as a wiki I'd found mentioned It, I should have asked, sorry. As to the hp the 130 is stock from Ford, so it might be 131, but then I haven't had it dynoed and I don't really need to, as the K&N really means I don't need to change the air filter, just re-oil it once every 50,000 miles, so the car costs Me less. Insurance costs Me $184 a year of course, which amounts to 10 payments of $18.40 per month. But like I said I don't drive much.

Well, this Team Insomniac member has to call it a day.
Gotta go to bed with the kitties, rest the newly zapped eyeball, and get up in the morning for the post-op checkup.

Carry on.

Well, you certainly win on insurance, mines £500 per year which is what, about $800? Bloody fortune!

Just woken up to a gloriously sunny day,
and one that has rhymes. No way!
But, when it comes to servicing my car,
it's about £300 per each 12K, per year, so far.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Of all the cars I have owned this was my favorite. Only 100 Hp and electrical problems were common. But is was fun in the sun, or snow. Not so much in the rain.
