I had to wash a pair of pants and I thought I'd got everything out, Oopsie! The phone got washed with the pants, So now on a Verizon Wireless guys advice I went and bought a bag of rice to try and suck the water right out of the phone, I'll be lucky if It works again, Until then It's the internet or nothing. So here goes nothing, phone, rice, zip lock bag & crossed fingers. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

Well that didn't last long, The cooler is now offline, As the cooler was making high pitched noises at either speed, So mere oil isn't helping much, So the bearings need replacing and that might take a while I'm told. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

I'm as all packed as I'm going to get, I do need to unpack some stuff and find a psu and 2 fans so that I can get a new pc working to replace My current one, Yet I don't feel like doing any of this, Lack of phone and cool air are part of what's driving this currently and of course Grace is continuing to defy Me as She jumps on to the aquarium, as none of the cables are protected, I'd wanted to buy a rare Atari 400 w/48k memory and an aftermarket keyboard & eggs, Yet cause of the phone and other items the 400 is slipping away and the powdered eggs well I don't know if they'll be around next month due to a #10 can shortage, I know of 130 cans, Besides I have $200 in personal property taxes to pay for between May and possibly August, DMV is in September, And Me with maybe $80-101 extra a month now, The next few months will be interesting at least, If nothing else. I just need to make It through to October. Monk is on now. Later. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

More news on the washed phone: 1. The phone did come up and say Vcast onscreen, 2. Then It said low battery and then It promptly shut off. It's been dark ever since, Maybe later in an hour or so the battery will have some charge to allow the phone to operate, If not, Then I still have to wait until at least Friday before I'll have a working phone again, As the rice did work, But the charging circuit and/or the battery might be gone for good. More hopeful News on the washed phone: The phone said Vcast again! And the keys are lit once again! And the phone says Battery Charging! It looks like the phone will be ok, Maybe. I wonder will I have to reprogram all the phone numbers or what? It looks promising. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

Well the phone has been on the charger for several hours and outside of the keys lighting up and the screen flashing Vcast, I think It's fried, The battery seems ok, But that's It. So the new phone should be here by either the 8th or the 9th according to ebay, So now I wait. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

Well the phone came to life, Briefly, It said Searching for SVC and I saw My phone book, But then the phone went dark, I may swap batteries when I get the other one and see If that's the problem. I wonder can these be repaired? Or if not how do I get the phone book info? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

Hi Victor, maybe its just the battery. Have you tried leaving it on the charger and useing it? I dropped my cell phone in oil last night. Was going and break and took my phone out to call the wife and it got snagged in my pocket and then just flew out and landed in 2" of used cutting oil in the chip cart. I immediatley got it out and oil was everywhere. took a rag and wiped it down good, then used it to call the wife, it worked. Its on the charger 8 hours later and still works. Lucky me, I hope. If that oil migrates im done. ![]() Old James |

Is everything on a card, or is it all on internal memory? celttooth ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@ Cell Tooth: Internal Memory @ James Sotherden: Yes I've tried the phone with and without the battery, with the charger attached and without, No difference, the newer phone should be here soon. I had the phone on the charger over night too, Nothing, Beyond the occasional fits of coming to life and then promptly dying. I was able to access the phone book menus only once. I wonder how do I wipe this phone? Without being able to access the internal menus? This morning It looks like My auto insurance went up by 19.78% from: $18.20 to $21.80 a month, The $18.20 happens twice a year as My yearly amount is $218.00 or $109.00 every 6 months. $18.16 to ? 10 times a year, I don't know yet what the new amount will be. GMAC said on their declarations page that My auto insurance hasn't gone up, Yet in an email It went from $18.20 to $21.80, I fired off an email complaining about this. Wonderful. :( The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

What? You are only paying $218.00 per year? Up here I have PL&PD, and upset, I pay almost $800.oo per. (PL = Public liability, PD = public damage) celttooth ![]() ![]() ![]() |

What? I pay what the state of California says is the minimum to be insured, see below , Why? Cause Full coverage would be around $600 every 6 months and I don't get very much as It is and since I don't drive much(like 2000 miles a year at most), The car just sits and gets dirty, I'd clean It, But that can be painful to do. I have a 12 year old car without even 78,000 on the odometer yet. I don't drive much Ahhh, I understand now. I don't work anymore so my fees also went down, and like you I get all the deductions, old age, living in the country etc. Still there was a time in my youth when I could not afford complete coverage. Now all I worry about is keeping the little pooper clean. celttooth ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I don't drive much Thought You would, Now If I could only call GMAC and tell them that they took $3.60 more out of My account than they were supposed to, But I have to wait as the replacement phone is on the way here by way of the USPS and yes I'm tracking the phone so I'll know when I can go down to the Post Office and get My phone, Of course that phone will need to activated on My account, But before that I plan to test the old phone and battery by doing a swap, Maybe something good will happen or maybe nothing new will happen then, but I'll see then. Cause the old phone might be just a paper weight now... It was supposed to be $18.20, GMAC took $21.80... I just empty Graces bin twice a week into the toilet, flush and if needed add some more of World's Best "corn based" flushable cat litter to Her modified automatic litter box. Ok I got some work done on the replacement PC, I installed the Corsair H70 in the Antec HTPC Fusion Remote MAX case that I had bought a while back, But to do It I had to remove the 140mm intake fan next to where the 120mm rear fan was, Lovely, But the H70 is in there, Next hooking up the cables for the 2 fans and the cable for the H70 to the motherboard, Grace supervised of course and inspected My work, The 120x25mm fans are a pair of high performance Koolance fans I bought a while back another PC that I'll get to once I've figured out whether I can install 4 Koolance GTX295 blocks closer than Koolance had thought of, As the shortest distance Koolance had thought of was to have two cards near each other with an empty slot in between the two cards, If I can't do this then the four Koolance blocks will have to sold and I'll have to buy 4 Bitspower GTX295 blocks instead(single pcb card type only), I'll have to hunt up two more of those 120mm Koolance fans soon enough I reckon. For the moment for testing purposes I'll use a 550w psu that's laying around, the guy said It was good enough for a Quad core, Ok It'll be the acid test then, Plus hook up an LCD monitor too, Once I find out the thing works, Then I'll shut this one down, remove the 1050w psu(hopefully It will fit), remove the hdd and the wireless card and install all 3 in the new case, Along with an EVGA Superclocked GTX460 card w/1GB ram on the card. In any case I'm making progress, Oh and why am I not installing the GTX460 while testing with the 550w psu? Simple the 550w psu has two 12v power rails that have 18A on each rail and I don't want to kill the psu, So I'll play It safe with the Nvidia 6200 card that is in there for now. Vic you may have already looked at these but a single slot sli connector may solve you problem for close fitting cards http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Phobya-Variable-SLI-VGA-Connector-1-Slot-/330546093332?pt=Computing_ComputerComponents_Fans_Heatsinks_SR&hash=item4cf6151d14#ht_2405wt_905 min distance is ~18mm i have used these for back to back gpu cards with EK blocks and should be compatible with Koolance if the picture is anything to go by as the distance is so short i have found that connecting them before putting into motherboard appears to work best Tim ![]() |
