Message 1051673 - Posted: 28 Nov 2010, 18:43:35 UTC - in response to Message 1051670.

Then, Andy, you would do well to remain in WSM. All day the temperature has been -7C (19F), but at least the sun was not accompanied by any wind.

The temperature in the village fell to -13C (8F) last night and the same is forecast for tonight. Plus strong winds and more snow.

Winning when freezing, and having the oil fired central heating blasting away.

Too cold for me. That's why I moved here was for the milder weather in the South West. This area went years without a frost, but the last 3 Winters have been a bit, erm, different! (In fact, we're not even in to Winter yet!)

Sounds like a prime environment for the return of the Woolly Mammoth and Woolly Rhinoceros, Today the closest would be either the African Elephant or the Indian Elephant and for the Rhinos that would be the woolly Sumatran rhinoceros which is endangered due to habitat shrinkage due to Mans encroachment.

Extinct Woolly Rhinoceros as of about 8,000BC, Some have been found to be as large as 12' in length, with speculation that some could have been 14' in length.

An overdue & very icy win. Snow on the ground here is unusual in Winter and positively rare in November!

-6C last night, already -2C and falling this evening.

We only had some rain last night, But then It was 41F(5C) this morning. Predicted night temps are supposed to range from 27F(-3C) to 40F(4C), The colder It gets the more often the heater becomes active, When the night temp outside is around 27F the heater would wake up and pump out new warm air about once an hour(I timed It before I fell asleep).

Never rose above -1C here today and the heaters been on all day. I don't like the cold.

Iam sure that VWBobier could use a roommate. I bet it hasn't gotten below 0F there in decades.

It's all down to that dodgy geezer El Nino. He's on Interpol's most wanted list.

Someone send for Inspector Clouseau. ;)

But the chief inspector always seems to survive, even if just barely.

At the back of yesterday, and the start of today, I think I might just be winning?
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues
