No comment on the comment.

Thought it was a comment about a 3 pack a day habit.

Smoking got my mom. Don't wish that on anyone.

No comment on the cigs, just a reply to Dan's post. Evenso I wish SV could cut back. John Wayne comes to mind here.

Cigarettes are a terrible addiction but there are millions who have managed to quit. You can too.

No milk for the coffee? Eek! Yeah I hear Ya, I don't like coffee black either, Vanilla Ice Cream, Wish I had some, sigh.

If You want to smoke, Don't mind Me, One either does want to quit or not, Here in California cigs are expensive as can be.

I find this thing about the Confederate History controversy interesting, Even My Mother Who had descendants who lived in Texas before 1855(And before Texas was a state in the Union) and the Civil War was started cause Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the US and the South feared the Abolitionist platform plank that Republicans ran under, That Virginian that's on TV is an Idiot(He needs to go back to school and do some proper studying of American History, The South started the Lousy War by firing on Fort Sumter(Here too), Lincoln ended the War), Lincoln only went after the South initially cause the secession was seen as illegal back then, Only later after being pushed into It did Lincoln even go to abolishing Slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation. Which means the South was a bunch of sore losers, Sounds like Republicans in Congress today, Sore losers, How Ironic. Kinda wonderful having leg on each side of History, Slavery did happen, No doubt, Did It need to continue? No, As It would have died out If the cotton gin hadn't been invented, Before that It was dying out, But prejudice still exists, Hopefully the worst practitioners are all locked up.

You need to have a good enough reason to quite or you simply won't. The one that does it, will be different for everyone, money, health, love, whatever.

So true.

My dad quit after my mom died of cancer when I was 15. Mom never smoked. Dad went on to die of natural causes at the age of 92.

I smoked for 20+ years and quit, and the wife did too, on Jan 1, 1987. We both had tried many times to quit before, but it took both of us working together to finally do it.

I actually prefer making my coffee from Folger's instant coffee crystals...a bulging teaspoon mixed with a half a coffee cup of hot tap water...It's my morning wake up potion...I'm always in way too big of a hurry to mess with coffee pots or coffee makers.

I have a Krups drip coffee maker at the ready and a hemp filter that I just rinse and reuse, It's part of My morning routine, I clean what I need to cook with for breakfast and then start mixing My powdered whole eggs with water, salt and pepper and put 2 sausage links in the saute pan after spraying the pan with cooking spray(0 calories and 0 fat, better than oil). My Dad drank Folgers crystals as He didn't have a coffee pot and largely didn't know how to cook, I don't think He could afford the cost of a pot and so I think He went without instead, He was of that generation where He was either in a Restaurant or the wife did the cooking and after the divorce when I was 12yrs old, He didn't get anymore cooking from Mom.

Yeah, I made a promise to my son that I would quit this summer. I rarely break a promise to my kids. So, hopefully this will be enough motivation to finally stop.
