Winning now my son has quit yapping at me about being on the internet and lagging out his xbox. I was reading up on Ntpker so somehow doubt I was using a lot of bandwidth...teenagers eh? If he doesn't quit I shall go post on his facebook page about "his reserved copy of Twilight:New Moon being ready for collection". Reality Internet Personality |

I expect you already know that you can cruise at an indicated 77mph and not get nicked? All speedometers in the UK read 10% high by law. I have proved this to myself many times by driving thru cameras at 33, 44 etc and not getting flashed/nicked. Also overtaking police cruisers at an indicated 77 with no problems. Just today I drove by one of those signs that tell you what speed you are doing. My dashboard said 33 and the sign said 30. Hope this helps |

I expect you already know that you can cruise at an indicated 77mph and not get nicked? All speedometers in the UK read 10% high by law. Out here going East bound on the I15 fwy, Just before the Ft Irwin bridge is where one or two Sheriffs cars hang out, Waiting to ponce on an unwary speedster who hits the brakes as they pass by, The Cars park in the triangle area between the bridge and the exit to Ft Irwin Rd, I've seen them there quite a bit too as the location is perfect as One doesn't see the cars until It's almost too late as the location is out of sight until One is going downhill towards Yermo and Las Vegas... I expect you already know that you can cruise at an indicated 77mph and not get nicked? All speedometers in the UK read 10% high by law. For the particular cars we are discussing (Prius) it has been found and many times posted in the relevant Yahoo groups that their speedos read 10% high. If you have a Car Area Network Sniffer (which I do) you can ask the computers what speed you are going and it will say (e.g.) 50 when the dashboard is saying 55. Also as I said you can drive past a radar equipped warning sign and see the same thing. I am not advocating driving beyond 70. Just pointing out that to drive a Prius at a genuine 70 you need to have your speedo reading 77. Note well this is only in the UK - according to Yahoo groups in other places the Prius speedos read correctly. My experimental results are only for Prius. However from the way other drivers slow down "too much" for cameras I believe many other cars are biased 10% high too. Try it with a warning sign near you - they are installed on many 30 mph roads nowadays. |
