Message 979296 - Posted: 16 Mar 2010, 3:15:13 UTC - in response to Message 979283.

There many names I know here. Some are very old Seti Users, they have accomplished many things that have made "your" life easier today... They have held engaging conversations.

They have been given a second chance. To a very large extent I appreciate that Seti can do this.
Have you every wished for a Second Chance?

So while nerves are frazzled with Seti Server Issues, Please allow them a bit of Courtesy.

Regards

Pappa,

As one of the banned that was welcomed back, I want to say thank you for your comment. I know I've appreciated everything you've done for the project, and its great to see you still helping. You've been one of many people who I've had a lot of respect for on these boards. And you continue to do so through our outstanding help.

Welcome back. I knew nothing of this and find this most interesting in how Seti works. Sounds like a good thought and a nice way to express the anniversary.

Indeed it is so, and second chances come in limited numbers. Pappa - thanks for the thoughts.

Several of the returners have been unable to return due to the server "upload results" issue and are patiently waiting it resolution. One I can name is Chris_S who wishes you all the best and waits patiently to be able to say hello himself.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Hopefully, with seeing the Post by Eric (Tech News) and the traffic from Fragment, they should be able to join us.

It has been a long hard battle defining what the network deals us (server issues aside).

In a thought that was private. I have known many of the users for years. Many before the problems started. Sometimes we start down a road not knowing where it leads. For those that have made it back. You deserve a second chance.

Life teaches "us" something new everyday. I try to listen. We are all Human.

Regards

Al

A certain previously banned user still has a webpage defaming the Seti admins and moderators. I wonder why this wasn't brought up as one of their terms for return. As for now we still have a user that blames the admins and moderators for "their" actions

I just want to thank Dan Werthimer for taking the time to hear our side of the story and giving us a second chance.

As I said to him at the time, we were all sorry to have caused such distress to the project and it was never our intention. I wish I'd never been shown the modlist. I know that I should have reported the leak and I also know that if I had not been so sorely disappointed with what I saw on that modlist I would have done so immediately.

The past is the past and I sincerely hope that things have moved on.

As someone pointed out in another thread of the same topic, forgiveness is up to the individual. Myself I am willing to put it all behind us and start afresh.

@skilldude: Why don't you try talking to that user with your concerns?

because I can only assume what the Admins have said is true. that Items that were done in the past are that and things are forgiven/forgotten. Unfortuantely we(the mods) still know of the site and the rant about the admins and mods. It's not my responsibility to police other sites though I do see it my responsibility to provide light on this forums to others intent and demeanor towards individuals here. I'm very willing to retract anything said here if I hadn't read the page myself. Maving done that the site is fair game.

Perhaps the individual{s} that claimed to want a fresh should actually remove their defamatory comments before this Mod sees fit to forget

I'll join with Skil on this one...

Since you asked Esme, why don't you take down your page ripping on the Admins and the past...if "the past is the past"?

I have to agree with Skilldude and Blurf on this Es. I'm quite surprised to see you still have this page after all this time. We haven't all come back to the same point, but to a place where the water has flowed on.

Probably because when I sold my computer I forgot to save all the info on my site and don't have the passwords any more.

It wasn't really a priority for me to sort out before now.

I wouldn't really call it 'ripping' into admins. More like stating things that had happened in a place I am allowed to do so. I haven't posted the link here, so I wonder that others would want to?

That means, that you pay money for something, that you dont have access? And it is very easy to remove that link from your profile.

Then I offer you a challenge...as Champ suggested-remove the link from your profile.

Dropping the connection to your dunceswithweevils site will sever the connection with the "past" and let it flow away. If not, then the people you named (of which one is still a mod)--it really shows that you have no intention of moving beyond it as you yourself suggested.

I also think you could call them and have them remove that portion of the site if you wished.

Several people have expressed moving on but Ice, Skil, Champ and I have concerns over the honesty of your wish to do so. I think it'd be a major point to putting it in the past--and that would be good for everyone.

Quoting directly from Champ (approved by him):

That means, that you pay money for something, that you dont have access? And it is very easy to remove that link from your profile.
