Luke how long is it taking your GPU to crunch MB's ? And You'd be hip deep or worse in snow, As the Canucks get a lot of the stuff, Down here not so much. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Luke The case in question is not a Nvidia case but a Cooler Master ATCS 840.Its the very same case as the Nvidia one and you should be able to get this in NZ.Link as follows http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1864_1.html Regards John |

Luke how long is it taking your GPU to crunch MB's ? I guess he meant not the CUDA WU preparation time on the CPU. :-/ He meant the whole CUDA WU calculation time on CPU & GPU. ;-D (with MB_6.08_CUDA_V12) On my QX6700 - ~ 14 sec.* (@ 3.14 GHz - DDR2 944/5-5-5-15) & GIGABYTE GTX260-216 SOC ~ 550 sec.** On my 940 BE - ~ 12 sec.* (@ 3.0 GHz*** - DDR2 1066/5-5-5-15) & 4x EVGA GTX260-216 SSC ~ 570 sec.** [* preparation time in TaskManager (CPU time)] [** whole CUDA calculation (0.448x AR WU)] [*** to now stock.. ;-)] |

Luke how long is it taking your GPU to crunch MB's ? Ugh. I'm so tied up with other things I forgot to read it properly. Time to get started was about 16 seconds. Completion time was about 5-7 minutes to about 15-22 minutes. A small update on my OC - my new profile is running very well, only twice has the peak hit 73c, otherwise the peak is always between 70c-72c. 2 hours 30 minutes through my 6 hour Blend Prime95 stress test. Currently doing tests 3-8 of the "340,000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of Mxxxxxx using FFT length 16K" section. - Luke. |

Like Fred W mentioned it here in [Message 960406]. Opt. MB is running hotter than Prime. So I'm now little bit crazy and I guess that the opt. MB app stress the CPU more than Prime. Better for stable test. :-\ In the time I OCed my QX6700, I didn't made a Prime or other stress test. I crunched only SETI@home. I started IIRC at 325 FSB and got after short time a reboot. Then down with the FSB.. reboot.. down with FSB.. and after some weeks no reboot I was at 314 FSB. Since then 314 x 10 = 3.14 GHz, two years continuously stable 24/7. *thumb up* After a short offline time again 24/7 crunching. Sure, I tested also other settings, higher FSB/less multi, other RAM ratio.. but the current 314 x 10 & 944/5-5-5-15 was the best. In this time I DLed HyperPI (it calculate 'SuperPI' on all CPU-Cores), for to test different settings. If 349 x 9 or 314 x 10 better.. but because of faster RAM settings, 314 is better. I could select ~ 7xx/4-4-4-12 or 944/5-5-5-15. And the last one was faster. Higher MHz with 4-4-4-12 wasn't possible. For some weeks I made a Google search to HyperPI and at the URL of the coder website was a warning - dangerous site. I guess it was only because of some people hacked his site. So if you DL this nice prog from a well known DL site, you should be safe. Or after Google search from an other site.. After I wrote it.. I made now a Google search and now it's without warning.. www.virgilioborges.com.br/virgilioborges/hyperpi (made the URL not active, own risk ;-) |

I have to agree with the P95 test not being as stressful as the optimized apps. Had a PC die on me a couple of weeks ago (MB & power supply), had to replace MB with a different model, tested a couple of hours with a modest OC using P95, looked OK, then ran Boinc and it rebooted after only like 15 minutes. It could be because P95 only stresses the CPU and I have a couple of GPUs in that system, though. But the GPUs never got that hot, so I don't think that was it. -Dave |

I've had enough with Prime95. My system OC profile is now officially certified 3 hours 22 minutes stable. So, for the past 2 hours, I've been running S@H, with a 13 minute average temperature of 67c. The highs usually vary between 69c-72c, and a few peaks at 73c, however, I haven't seen that temperature for a good 10-20 minutes. All of my tasks appear to be completing and running through normally, and I am receiving credit for them. But I cannot be exactly sure if there are any errors or not since the replica db is banged up. As for temps being higher in MB than Prime95, I'm not seeing any of that here. Temps are peaking just as high on MB as they were on Prime95. Temperatures, are more 'volatile' though, the cores change more widely in temperature than when I was running Prime95. Long may this continue... Tomorrow, I'll give it one more chance to see how high I can go with the baseclock, and how low I can go with the vcore. - Luke. - Luke. |

Hi All. Looks like it is time to get this this thread set up. Some of you here will know about my impending computer build. Well, I have finally got around to creating this thread for the topic. I hope to have this build up and running / crunching (at stock settings) by New Years Eve, which is also my 3rd year anniversary of crunching for S@H. Ok...ok... I drooled over your new PC build long enough. I broke down and ordered some bits to upgrade my HTPC: GigaByte GA-P55-UD6 Intel I7-860 CORSAIR CMX4GX3M2A1600C8 4GB PC3-12800 SAPPHIRE HD 5750 1GB All for the low low price of $786.80! lol Not as much as the powerhouse you ended up with, but I hope it can play HD movies for me better then my old P4. The GF says this is my Christmas present to myself for the next 5 years... If you haven't figured it out already. I love glowing things... So, I'm decked out on lights and see through windows and dual monitors etc. You should be able to build a relatively cheap system and get nearly as much RAC as I can. :) I look forward to seeing our results! - Luke. |

Whatever it can manage will be better then my current HTPC. I like making weird lights out of things that are not meant to be lights meself, just not my computers for some weird reason. I turned an old cell phone into an emergency LED flashlight that comes on when the charger looses power & runs off of the internal lion batter. Then I made a lamp out of an old helicopter landing light. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Sorry Luke don't you meean 16 Minutes if it is doing an MB in 16 secs I WANT ONE. LOL Dave |

Sorry Luke don't you meean 16 Minutes if it if doing an MB in 16 secs I WANT ONE. Yeah, it's the new nVidia GTX499 Hyperclock 'Mark & Luke Co-Op' Limited Edition. Starting from just 100,000,000 credits each. You pick remnants of ATI cards out of its fans daily. Seriously, with no OC on my GTX260, I can do shorties in about 3-7 minutes and the rest in about 15-22 minutes. What I should have said before is that it takes 16 seconds to start a CUDA task. Sorry about that... - Luke. |

That's ok Luke. You were a bit pre-ocupied with the OC. Glad thing are starting to take shape now. As John G pointed out the case is available but may not have the nVidia livery. Dave |

Oh No! BSOD! 7 hours 15 minutes into this (no longer) great OC profile! :( Adjusted bclk down 1 notch, adjusted vcore up 1 notch. Let's see now... Seriously, I can see myself getting bored of the blue screen all the time. Is there any way to at least customize it? EDIT: Now running an OC profile of (180x21=3780MHz - vcore 1.21875v). Testing stability on the OCCT Linpack 10 minute stress test. Sigh. Keep on trying... - Luke. |

Oh No! BSOD! 7 hours 15 minutes into this (no longer) great OC profile! :( No easy path to greatness, lol! You either keep pushing until you're happy that you can't get any more, or stick with a more conservative, but known good o/c... Don't think that you can customize a BSOD unless you're happy to do some deep digging in Windows. Not something I'd try. regards, Gizbar. A proud GPU User Server Donor! |

Just D/loaded some new tasks on my i7 rig to see me though the outage and beyond. Got 353 VLAR's don't know whether to crunch em or kill em. My AMD rig has been crunching it's way through 1000 or more over the last month. Sadly it will not meet the target date on a couple of hundred. Any ideas Crunch or Kill. Dave |

I abort all my VLARs that way they go straight back into the seti database to be reissued. All 8 of my CPU cores are presently doing Einstein and 2 of my GPU cores doing SETI so my only option is to abort. Regards |
