Hello fellow crunchers,

I am from Zimbabwe and have been receiving the following sorts of error messages while attempting to upload results:

temporarily failed upload of 03se09ab.28120.13155.5.10.52:_HTTP error

When I attempt to update the project, the number of unreported tasks (after 3 days of this C**P), is now 138 and I get the following error message:

Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error

Electricity is an expensive and scarce commodity here and not being able to upload/update is starting to P**S me off just a tad.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of these issues? I would be most grateful if someone has a fix.

You could try switching from htt protocol version 1.1 to version 1.0.

To do so, you must create a text file named cc_config.xml in your BOINC data directory (if it doesn't exist already). The data directory is mentioned in the message tab of BOINC manager after a restart of the client.
With notepad or a similar text editor, enter (copy&paste) the following into that file:
  <cc_config>
    <options>
      <http_1_0>1</http_1_0>
    </options>
  </cc_config>
There are no lower case 'L' characters in that code, only digits '1'. More information about cc_config you can find here.
In BOINC Manager (Advanced view) select menu 'Advanced->Read config file' to activate the new configuration.

Gruß,
Gundolf

even though site is up there must be a load of people uploading as I have been getting http errors since 15:56 GMT+1, so something might be wrong with the upload server or maybe just the amount pf uploads which I think it is. now getting cannot to server messages is there something wrong with the server or just volume of traffic?

Thanks to all for your responses. They are much appreciated. It is not a cc_config problem as I have been using the modification Gundolf Jahn suggested for some time now and Boinc has been working perfectly except the last few days. I spoke to another seti user here and he is having the exact same problem. I hope it's just an overloaded server issue as was suggested and that things will return to normal in the course of time.

Ahh that might be why I was also getting the HTTP message.

It's not at your end, it's been affecting everyone.

However, I was just able to report some WUs, so things are coming back.

The Splitter's are only coming online now, so expect it to get worse before it gets better!
