skip this post unless you want to cry What is god's name makes dragging your dog all over town necessary? The way some people treat their critters is beyond making my blood boil. Driving home from work. Dog in back of pickup. He has his paws on the side, head in the wind. I see he has a leash on. I soon find out the leash is too long. He jumps out and gets dragged. He tried to get on his feet and run. It was too fast. Mercifully driver notices. As he slows the dog is able to get up and run until the truck stops. I'm just amazed the dog didn't end up under the rear wheel, but I think the leash was just short enough to prevent that. Anyway, I hope that vets are required to report abuse. |

No cute pictures to include with this post, but I *think* this is the right thread for this. Recently when I had a someone stop by for a visit I was surprised to find them and the well picked over remains of a roasted chicken on the door step. They, of course, questioned my method of disposing of left-overs, but I haven't had chicken in weeks... honest. I can only assume that this was a "thank you" from my fury neighbors, ie: raccoons and possums, for the bit of assistance I provided over the snowy season. I would have really preferred a pizza and a 6-pack, but then it's the thought that counts. |

Spawnie has become a little territorial in our backyard. Last night I watched him chase two raccoons under our deck. Granted, they are the most timid raccoons we have ever had; but seriously cats are not supposed to do that!!! Tonight I caught him "guarding" the escape route from under the deck, so I assume he chased Interloper Mama and Tweedle Deee under there again. Spawnie is going to be in for a rude awakening this summer when more aggressive raccoons like Arthur and Cilantro start visiting again. |

Ahoy, shipmates! Or squirrel proof, Probably falls into the same category of rules as idiot proof and squaddie (Brit soldier) proof. A "better" one always comes along. |
