I just heard from my friend that has cancer. She is actually doing well considering the chemo and radiation treatments. She has met "minimum requirements" for radiation. So, no more radiation for awhile. Now it's just a matter of working through what's already been dosed to her system. So far, the Doctor(s) seem to believe that everything is under control.

Sounds encouraging at least. Did you ever happen to find out what kind of cancer your friend has?

She had a tumor in a lymph node that was caused by an "Unknown Primary"... (That's the term she gave me.) Something to the effect that whatever and wherever the primary mass was; her body naturally fought off and won against the primary mass. However; before that occurred, it spread to a lymph node in her neck.

I don't really understand it all; just glad however that she's doing better.

I am glad to hear that she is doing better and I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Now this makes me want to add a lymph node to Albert's microscopy thread.....

TL,
I meant to include this in my previous post but forgot :)
A cancer diagnosis of the unknown primary simply means that they found a tumor that had metastasized, but they do not know where it started at. It is basically a fancy medical term for "I have no idea where that cancer started in your body" :)

Having A tooth pulled is not fun. Did they give you meds to ease the pain?
