I'll add my thanks in, it was a lot of work by a lot of people for not much more than hearing us say thanks, and getting a bit more science done. I appreciate the effort of all involved.

Going from NI!2.4 SSE2 to AK V8 SSE3, I'm seeing ~25% less time to crunch similar AR WUs on my A64 X2s. Great job guys!

A big " THANK YOU " to all the people involved in the porting !!! Just wait a few days, Your RAC will or maybe already is gonna surprise You, Mine sure enough has, It's going up and I'm not sure where It'll stop. :D I've shaved on average of about 32 minutes per WU from 2.4V, AK_V8 ROCKS! Now we're cookin, Pedal to the metal guys. ;) :D ____________ BSG Anthem My Facebook page

A big " THANK YOU " to all the people involved in the porting !!! I, for one, have had nothing but mid AR units (between 0.4 and 0.5) since the new App was released. This band is where the new Apps have greatest impact (not accidentally as I understand it). As and when we get some VLAR or VHAR WU's, the improvement, while still very impressive, is not quite so mind-blowing. Don't expect the gravy train to keep going full tilt :) F. ____________

Is there a way of knowing the AR of a unit prior to crunching? Where is that info posted? Thanks.

A very special thanks goes out to the following for their work in porting the AK code to Windows. Tested the first WU's, amazing, just amazing, a 1:14:12 WU in 0:34:16, with the new app. .On a QX 9650, stock @ this moment.SSE3 Build, to start with, as was the gain, with crunch4r's SSSE3, not so big, took SSE3.Maybe SSE4.1, have to try. That's just one but it looks all very promising and also thanx from this cruncher, tip to the hat! ____________ Knight Who Says Ni N!, OUT numbered.................

I have run through over 100 WU's using the SSE4.1 on my Q9450 since yesterday (all in the same AR band) and it looks like there are still a lot in the same AR band coming next, so I have just swapped to the SSSE3x App to do a direct comparison. Charts to follow when I have enough results, though it may be a while before we have an understanding across all Angle Ranges as the supply seems to be very focussed at the moment. Is this an app that anyone can run? If so, how do we get it? If it will give an estimated 40% boost in crunchtimes, lots of people are going to want it.

The code, from the Lunatics web site, will boost any PC (AMD or Intel) which supports the SSE3 instruction set and above (SSSE3, SSE4). As yet SSE2 and below are not supported, and I am not sure what would happen if the new code is placed on rigs with the earlier instruction sets. The new code is working well on the Quads, and RAC rises slowly. ____________ It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

The Phenom and Athlon64 X2 5000 you have do support SSE3. ____________

Correct, they do. I have a couple P4 laptops, Toshiba 2435-s255, that I cant seem to find the information on. Also, both the Athlon and Phenom, are running Vista. Is Vista supported? I could only find mention of earlier Windows versions. ____________
