While in the army, I was assigned to help in the Armory the day we received a shipment of weapons. While unpacking and logging serial numbers, I happened to notice a cardstock tag in one of the crates. "Never stand in front of the weapon while firing." Considering we were receiving M16's and three M60's I immediately had to ask the armory Sargent, "Exactly how do you stand in front of your weapon and fire it at the same time?" Then showed him the warning. He responded with showing me the tag that had arrived with some hand grenades, "to operate, pull ring, discard grenade." Also, many former military personnel are familiar with the claymore anti personnel mine. On it's case, "This side toward enemy." You can find similar warnings on Anti-tank weapons. Of course, I think the best warning I ever saw in the military was above the top's office door. "Do not enter unless one of the following applies: 1) The coffee is done 2) The Battalion Commander is in the orderly room 3) There is a barracks fire 4) We have just been place on alert 5) The C.O has once more come to the conclusion he is in charge." FYI, the top and all company officers always got along, just the top knew what everyone was doing at any given moment, where everyone was, and most importantly, had a great working relationship with the sargent major at battlion. |

I can however explain something about the fellow in front. He likes his musical theatre? Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
