PDT or UTC ?

I can't live without coffee, in Paris I sometimes have 8-10
per day. They're small but strong and taste so good. When
I'm in Montreal I can do without the instant coffee that taste
like...I won't say it. No seriously I try to reduce my consomation
it will kill me one day.

They don't need engineers, they need a priest to perform an exorcism.
This project is full of bugs, demons and gremlins. ( Or is it the men in black suit again, government cover-ups)
Tea time.... Have a nice day, evening, night wherever you are.

It was the Replicant 'Roy' in the movie 'BladeRunner' who mentioned the god of biomechanics. Now come on all, stay with BOINC, stay with SETI. As I understand this problem, it's a HW problem, it's a SW problem, and so it goes.

I run BOINC just for FUN.

Think, it creates JOBS.

Computer,software makers,troubleshooters etc.

I fell sorry for those guys at the other end. They must feel a lot of pressure trying to get this going.Delays make some people mad but could THEY do ANY BETTER ?

All this adds spices to life...

Tea Time , take a break,a walk , don't jump off a bridge, keep all your shirts on.

I suspect that the "user of the day" is one of the things that depends on a working SNAP appliance.

There have been quite a few good ideas posted in the past few days (weeks) and I'm sure they're on a list somewhere, but I think we need to let the staff work on stability first (either a SNAP APP that works, or something from the competition), then give 'em a little bit of time to recover -- and then we'll likely see new gadgets and etc.

Sprucing up the home page right now is a little bit like redecorating your house when the foundation is crumbling.

I agree Pascal...Berkeley is doing a fine job. I've got enough WUs in cache to last 2 or 3 more days. Even if I run out it's OK...I'll just wait patiently for more when released.

My system here at home ran out of S@H work, so I decided to join the Climate Prediction BOINC project and let my system churn away on that.. :) Speaking of climate.. wonder what Hurricane Frances is doing to Florida now.. just woke up hehe :)

Anyway, I rather them put their efforts towards making the servers run smooth and communicating their efforts in the news section. The user of the day is probably linked to the SNAP problem but if not, it can wait till that's fixed IMO.

13 WUs - Ready to report
2 WUs - Running
22 WUs - Ready to run

The 22 WUs should last me for about 5 days or so, maybe. I just thought of something. The temp here has come down considerably so I may be able to keep the PC on 27/7. But then, I think about my dial-up situation. If I set my dial-up not to close after no activity, my WUs will continue to run. If not, they will stop and I will need to re-start BOINC to get them running again. They just will not re-start on their own. :(

I have experienced NO down time since the upgrade to v4.05 (except for the problem above, which I posted in "Questions and Problems"). The above was actually copied and pasted here from another thread here. This is not where I seek advice or help.

Anyway, I believe that the developement team is working very well on getting the "bugs" swatted (remember the moth in the relay). I don't really care too much about the "User of the Day" post (unless I become one). That is an insignificant portion of this project. I just want to crunch WUs and be the first to find E.T. L8R....

Ya user of the day is useless. I say we should replace
it by "babes of the day" instead.
