Message 318393 - Posted: 27 May 2006, 8:02:45 UTC - in response to Message 318123.

I am hurt to see your thread become "obsolete". In MY opinion, it's not fair to take away your contribution to the SETI community. It was said that the "new forum" gives "all teams a voice of there own". As if they didn't have a voice in this thread. Bah! I don't like it Raven, and I understand your feelings. Take care dude.... )-:<

Thank you, Siran, I appreciate it.

Actually, you've touched on another aspect of all this. LHC has always had a separate team forum, like SETI's is now. The trouble with that setup is that each team member stays in their own team's thread. There's no interaction between teams, or much in the way of posts that aren't simply advertisements for the team. The only activity is to put another post in your team's thread in order to bump it up to the top-most area of visible threads.

With the single thread, it's more dynamic. Representatives of the individual teams talk to each other, sometimes try to outdo each other. If someone comes in here and posts that they are looking for a team to join, team members kiss their hands and shake their babies like they were running for office. There's a lot more activity, as evidenced by how many times my thread, and Fuzzy's before, was re-spawned. It will be a long time before you see a thread in the new team section reach 200 posts.

And yes, every team did have a voice. Before they were disabled, I made a point of going through the thread on a regular basis to plus any posts that had a rating less than zero, because I felt there was no need to minus something related to talking about one's team.

Anyway, I should probably stop rabbiting on in a thread that's closed, or the mods might get upset. Thanks once again.

Raven With respect, Why don't you start a new Thread in the Team Forums? I'll sticky it for you.

And BTW I am Not Mad at You and I do Understand.

Hi Raven,

This will likely be my last post here since, as you said, the thread is closed.

That was something I didn't think about with having a board for team advertisement. I had to see for myself. There's no team recruiting or inviting going on. I went into the BS thread and only the BSer's were posting. Maybe someone here will take note of that and try to put things back the way they should be. [wink, wink....] (-:<

[edit] Sorry, I just had to add this. I just went into the "team recruitement" "board" here and lo and behold, guess what I found? You're right, only team members are posting in the team threads. That's some kind of Team Recruitement there. There is absolutely zero interaction going on there. Talk about going down hill fast. QUICK, hit the brakes.... (-:< [/edit]

I've tried to create one there. Don't know if it will work.

Looks like someone beat me to it. Anyway, I'm too numb to care. I will create a thread for my team in due time like a good forum poster, and leave it at that.

Hopefully it's the other way around. Shaking babies can result in a felony. :-/
