the following was stolen by me from the fine folks at Boinc synergy:

μFluids project is a massively distributed computer simulation of two-phase fluid behavior in microgravity and microfluidics problems. Our goal is to design better satellite propellant management devices and address two-phase flow in microchannel and MEMS devices. Voluntary collaboration of individual computer users, like you, can participate by donating idle computer time using the BOINC software.

News - September 19, 2005
uFluids v1.00 deployed! Currently a nongraphical Windows x86 application is available. Other platforms and graphical GUIs will hopefully be released soon.

For more information go to http://www.ufluids.net/ and their forum ... http://www.ufluids.net/forum_index.php.

remember it's in Alpha/Beta right now, so be warned.

One thing that I'd always like to know, (and often
cannot easily discern here, and on some other DC projects)
is just who is going to benefit from the project?

The web site gives no clue other than the name of the
chief scientist (or something like that).

Does anyone know who, or what organization or enterprise,
is going to own the intellectual property that donated
cpu cycles will create?

just curious

Dave

also this thread

quick summary:
not sure who'll won the data, i've already asked here
but people like NASA will make best use of it at present

this is for the guy's master thesis, so i guess he'll own the results and data, but i don't see why he won't put it in the public domain
