It did not say all of Islam, and jokingly referred to "Real Islam" and not "True Islam" or "All of Islam". The Islamic Terrorists are the ones saying that what they follow is "Real Islam" and other Muslims are not real Muslims because they don't believe as the Islamic Terrorists do. If it offended anyone, I apologize. It was meant as a joke, the creator of the poster meant it as a joke, and it does not represent all Muslims and all of Islam. Yet you can see people coming out of the woodwork here with hate in their hearts with behaviors very much like those depicted in the poster towards me, towards Christianity, towards God in general. I forgive them, but they got to learn that such behavior is not to be tolerated, and now has only lead to making this thread go way off topic and into Bizzaro World. I am from District 268 in the Deneb Sector of Vilani Space. |

I forgive you, even though I'm not a Christian. Don't do it again though. It was very, very naughty. Reality Internet Personality |

Thanks, I guess now that I am forgiven, Santa Claus won't be giving me coal this year? Except that Coca Cola replaced him with Polar Bears on their soda cans this year, so I guess Polar Bears are replacing Santa? Well at least he gets a break from all of that hard work and can outsource it to Polar Bears now. Polar Bears, that via evolution, now have opposible thumbs and can speak. :) I am from District 268 in the Deneb Sector of Vilani Space. |

Where would we be without them? (..and don't start with all that intelligent design crap) Reality Internet Personality |

One must wonder why the word of GOD is not welcome in the religious thread! Presentation is everything. Quoting chapter and verse from any text becomes quickly redundant. This thread is for the presenting of ideas, which lead to discusions, and the exchange of ideas. Picture posts are a way of bringing a response, which leads to the same, or in and of itself, makes a statement. Live with it! Oh, BTW, we did have an atheist thread once, but the God Squad tried to trash it. Account frozen... |

The Islamic Terrorists are the ones saying that what they follow is "Real Islam" and other Muslims are not real Muslims because they don't believe as the Islamic Terrorists do. Discussions involving religion or race are usually very sensitive subjects, even in formal scientific-type settings. So if something is said that gives the impression of intolerance, it sparks conflict. Even if a certain opinion wasn't meant to be so. But simply speaking, I guess there's a fine line between being critical or humorous about some story involving religion, or religion in general, and giving the impression of being intolerant towards a particular religion/race or having an agenda. I think that this usually happens when someone is humorous or critical of a religion/race other than their own. [edited] |

Too true, well said. It is rather difficult to have a mellow discourse with someone who would or has persecuted you in the name of God. Conversely, atheists do not have the right to persecute believers (a la Soviet Russia); two wrongs never make it right. Account frozen... |

Too true, well said. Good points. Hopefully... a way to get to understand and address these issues better somehow. |

This dude Orion Blaster is pretty funny. Although I missed the original picture that got so many people upset, the comments are very entertaining. And just to chime in on the theology (or lack thereof), I'm a militant agnostic. I'd argue it's impossible to prove or disprove the existence of a creator. And for a good treatise on religion & the bible, try "The Age of Reason" by Thomas Paine. On edit: When approached by fundies, the religion quickly changes from "Militant Agnostic" to "Godless Heathen". This is the voice of world control. I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied dead. The choice is yours. |

Thank you, you are now my favorite Militant Agnostic. :) BTW it is Orion Blastar, Blast and Star form to make Blastar. Orion Blaster is one of the imposters out there pretending to be me. A difference between the name is just an "A" switched for an "E". Also beware of Onion Blastar, he switched an "N" for a "R" in the first name, and sometimes uses the variant of Onion Blaster. I went over well on this Cafe SETI Religion thread like Dave Chappelle at a Southern Baptist convention as the guest speaker. Everyone wants to imitate him because he is so funny. I can't wait for his new season. In tribute to him, let me say "I'm Orion Blastar, bitch!" ;) I am from District 268 in the Deneb Sector of Vilani Space. |

Well at least he gets a break from all of that hard work and can outsource it to Polar Bears now. Polar Bears, that via evolution, now have opposible thumbs and can speak. :) Oh I'm sorry you are a Pepsi or RC-Cola drinker then, or perhaps a Dr. Pepper or 7-Up fan? Yet maybe you just drink tea or coffee or perhaps just plain water? I guess all of this time, the Coca Cola I have been drinking is a figment of my imagination, and the gas it caused is a psycho-psumatic response to my hallicination that I was drinking Coca Cola, which in reality and nature does not exist, because the theory of evolution proved it did not exist. I switched to Diet Coke, but that don't exist either, and all of the weight I lost as a result of switching to it was a figment of my imagination as well. Thumbs are cool, just read or watch The Hitckhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, almost as useful as a towel. Intelligent Design, yeah I like genetic engineering as well. Most designs I use when writing computer programs are intelligent, hence the name intelligent design. While they may be flawed, at least they are much better designed than sloppy and random designed things. Most manufactoring uses a blue print or some other intelligent design when making something. Of course if we allow intelligent design in public schools, we have to allow the flying spaghetti monster and Scientology in as well to tell their story/theory of creation. No need to make fun of those theories, they basically make fun of themselves. Which means we have to teach unintelligent design theories like the theory of evolution that basically says everything evolved randomly and chaotically from some chemical soup that was hit by a bolt of lightning, because the Earth won the cosmic lottery for life in the universe. Oh yeah, that is much more scientific and believable than intelligent design theories. Evolutionary scientists hope to one day discover that cosmic life lottery ticket to prove that the theory of evolution is true. Then those who dared push for intelligent design in public schools won't be laughing at them anymore. Why? Because it is a fact that the creation of life was not intelligent or designed in any way. To say otherwise is pseudoscience and will get you laughed out of college and the science academy. I am from District 268 in the Deneb Sector of Vilani Space. |

One must wonder why the word of GOD is not welcome in the religious thread! That is why instead I mostly quote from the voices inside of my head. I mean if you really wanted to read a bible, you would have done so by now. Chances are you already have and didn't like it. Atheist thread, was that about weak atheists or strong atheists? Do you consider the mind, will, and emotions to be a part of nature? Do you feel there are things out there greater than yourself, like your family, a team, your country, the universe, or perhaps the whole of nature itself? Have you ever heard of critical thinking, and do you follow such a method for morals and ethics? How would you feel if there was a Secular Church founded for agnostics, atheists, and secular humanists? I am from District 268 in the Deneb Sector of Vilani Space. |

The cult has had 2,000 years of practice to have an answer for everything, but like "intelligent design," they can't prove a damned thing. Sayings are as sayings go. Intelligent Design |

I'm an Atheist, don't you know that we only drink the blood of small babies? I guess all of this time, the Coca Cola I have been drinking is a figment of my imagination, and the gas it caused is a psycho-psumatic response to my hallicination that I was drinking Coca Cola, which in reality and nature does not exist, because the theory of evolution proved it did not exist. I switched to Diet Coke, but that don't exist either, and all of the weight I lost as a result of switching to it was a figment of my imagination as well. I'm afraid so. In fact you are not really posting here. You are not here at all. This is a psychotic episode brought about by drinking to much caffeine. ...and are the product of de-evolution. A: Meat sacks evolved from lower primates. (We still use less than 10% of our brain capacity, but that was enough to invent religion and war.) Account frozen... |
