Dear co-crunchers!
I like the new outfit of the server status page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html
What's your opinion? Showing different colors for the state of each server/program (running/maintenance/failure) is quite self explanatory, isn't it?

Remember, the project staff never listens to us, so that must be an optical illusion.

They do listen...and they do care...just some of us don't realize ;-)

Ill ad my vote for it also. Ive been following the other threads and this should really help keep down alot of complaints (of which Im not innocent of doing myself). After all, I we ever asked was someone to acknowledge when there were problems and know they were being looked at.

Thumbs up MATT!

Well pleased, they _do_ listen.

It is! But are these colors an automatic thing or do they require a human to change them when something happens?

...and what's the difference in being orange/yellow instead of red?
I.e. it's not working, whether intended or not.
I'm more interested in why it's not working.

Now what possible help is knowing why it's not working?
You/we're not going to fix it, even if it dumped the log/gpf or whatever on the status page - (1) it would mean nothing to 99.999% of us; (2) even if we do know how to fix it, I don't think Berkeley is giving 100,000 participants root access to fix things for them.
No, all we need to know is what we've got - good, bad, being worked on.
99.99% of the "discussion" here originates from the worry that no one at Berkeley has noticed a fault. Now we'll know.

Paul, that sort of defensive sarcasm doesn't fit you well and seems out of place. (my opinion)
