For those that miss the News: Quote: April 21, 2005 We will be having a several hours long outage tomorrow for a full database backup. Exact time and duration to be determined. Expect "No Schedulers Responded" and no work. |

Bump - could happen soon... Full backup, so the message boards will be down too? (Otherwise I'd start a book on how long befor the first "I can't Upload/Download" post comes in ;) ) |

> this was a short outtage > > all is working here in good conditions :) Unable to return results or get a response from the Scheduler at the moment. Looks like the usual post outage traffic jam again. EDIT- 3rd attempt got a response from the scheduler, 1 result returned. Rest timing out & unable to download new work units. Grant Darwin NT |

Rets still timing out. I've got enough work for a couple of days, but i like to return results twice a day so those that live for the credits don't stress out & foam at the mouth while wating for a quorum to get their credits granted... Will try again tonight after work. Grant Darwin NT |

Since you can't read this when the site is/was down why make this thread a sticky? |

The outage on Apr 20th was about server update, they said. But I haven't seen any change in the Server Status page afterwards, so I guess they changed their mind. However, I wish they'd stop removing the messages from the news page. It's annoying... I found it in the buffer of my RSS-feed program, from Wed 8.17 pm: "We are having a short data server outage in order to bring more storage online." |

Better late than never? :-) Actually, I made it sticky for a few reasons:
People may have noticed the outage and be tempted to start a thread asking why

The news item is gone from the front page

I thought maybe I'd get to test out ordered list usage in the forums
Rob |

Good for you Rob, and good for Berkeley. They managed to find a backup option that lasted no longer than 4 hours. Or so the forums looked like when I got back. ;) |
