If not, do it again and look at the fields showing your wu count in SETI classic. It has been updated last night ;)

So, the obvious conclusion might be that SETI Classic will soon be shutting down???

It's kinda nice to have a headstart, for once... maybe...

Not really, Matt answered with this yesterday.

" This came up in the general meeting yesterday. We will re-sync the classic SETI@home stats at least one more time, if not soon and then once again once classic is shut down for good. We understand how off-putting it is to see old numbers in that field. There's a lot of user-account cleanup we need to do..

Edit: expect a revised "migration from classic to SETI@home/BOINC" page sometime soon.

Hello, People of the Boards,

Here's a warning message that we will soon be ramping down these message
boards and we highly encourage everybody to start using the BOINC message
board system:

Of course, you'll have to register your account with BOINC to post new
messages there. In case you haven't done so, information is here:

It's weird. My link over my Avatar displays the correct number of work units and time, but the old date of 14 may 2004 is still dispalyed.

If I go directly to my account display the date is then correct with March 16, 2005.

Does anybody have any ideas why this could happened?

Have I checked my profile lately? Sure. It looks roughly like Alfred Hitchcock, or a shape similar to holding a dead frog upright letting its rear legs dangle.

OK then you send me $25.00 and I won't tell your wife that you have been starring at Misfits half Naked avatar...

Oh and if you get any ideas about telling my wife don't bother all she will do is laugh and say "So what's new"

I was just issued a new drivers license... and I was informed that my 'profile' was included in the bar-code on the reverse.

Since it's a bar-code, taking a strong magnet to it will not erase it.

I'll not feel good about that, ... even after I find a reader to see what it says.....

It says everything it says on the front and includes any restrictions and/or endorsements..

restrictions and/or endorsements are on the front..

I was informed that 'additionanl' info, such as driving record, etc was coded into the bar code so that when it's fed into a reader you're whole 'profile' was available to the officers by simply entering the card into the onboard computers. The 'etc' was what was not specified and what's troubling to me.

Like a faulty credit report, I'd like the ability to double check the data once in awhile just to guard against errors of input or I,D, hack attack...

maybe it's just me, but I have a certain aversion to the whole data base categorization that everyone is subjected to these days.

I just read about the 'new' legislation on new passports..... they're to be tagged with a readable chip.

One argument against that development was that with a portable scanner, someone would only have to gain a certain proximity and they would be able to 'read' your chip. In the least case, you are instantly identifiable as an American, ......in the worst case, too much information about you is out of your control.

Kind of off on a jag here but if we're all to be 'tagged', at the least we should be able to self verify the tags from time to time...

You were informed incorrectly. The bar code has all the information on the front. The idea is to allow a police officer to swip the drivers license in a reader on his cars computer and pull up your record. It is not on the card.

Ask a police officer to swip it for you if he can.

Just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean nobody is watching you..

Heard that too..
