Personal background
I'm a 47 year old Info Sys Director of a hospital in Coastal Georgia. I am originally from Newport News, Va. I graduated from High School in Mannheim, Germany. I went to college at Bloomsburg State University & Georgia Southern University. I am a Civil War History Buff and do computer repairs on the side. I am also a big baseball card collector and a loyal Braves fan.
I am married with an 18 year old son. I enjoy messing around with my network at home in the evenings. I am currently running 14 PC's at home 1300 mhz to 3.2 ghz. All have memory ranging from 256 mb to 1.0 gb ram. Connection speed is DSL at 8.0 MPS. I am currently working on a Masters in Healthcare Administration. Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there has to be other life out there. For all we know they have discovered us already and communicate with signals that our equipment can not yet pick up. As far as sending out a Beacon, I feel that there are enough signals out there. ET probably finds us interesting with signals such as the 3 stooges floating around out there. I enjoy using my small amount of processing power to contribute to the possibility of an ET discovery. I feel this is a very worthwhile project and as technology advances so does our chances of contact.
