Anyone else just get a flood of units? My 8 core system is full of them currently. Most start with "16mr20ae.XXX" there is also a "blc64_2bit_guppi_XXX" and "ap_24mr20XXX" unit https://munin.kiska.pw/munin/Munin-Node/Munin-Node/results_setiathomev8_in_progress_validation.html The Project Staff have started to do preemptive re-sends on some of the Workunits that have been waiting for a few weeks. Take a look at some of these and you should see that the re-sends are now going out a few weeks earlier than the expected time out. This image might illustrate it a bit better. |

For projects like Rosetta that tend to rob CPU cores away from those driving GPU's create an app_config.xml with Rosetta seems to be running with ~3 day deadlines, probably because they want Covid answers sooner rather than later. So if you are running a 10 day cache, and work with a 3 day deadline comes in, anything with a longer deadline gets shunted to the back burner. As the long deadline dates approach they will eventually go into higher priority and get processed, but that could be in a month or so for Seti work. I've got a few stray SETI jobs on my Gridcoin PCs, that are now on Rosetta work,.but they will get done before deadlines. Seti now is just cleaning up the loose ends, there will be some re-sends from dead machines and ghost work units. But you can't really count on those coming through. |

It's strange. Both my big Linux boxes (now running the stock client, and still the special sauce) are staying steady at 300 GPU tasks each. They were running exclusive GPUGrid when I got up, and I gave them just one prod each on the update button. Now I'm having to manually pause SETI so I can return my spare GPUGrid tasks in a reasonable time. I don't know what I've done right, but it's a good problem to have! |

Can't get any new tasks for the Seti project. Any idea what might be the problem? |

As promised, we've stopped the process that puts new data into the queue today. Data distribution will continue until the files shown on the status pages are done. We'll be accepting results and resending results that didn't validate for a while. Does that mean there's no more work to process? I periodically check my boinc to see how it's processing for SETI@HOME and noticed there wasn't anything to process... |

Does that mean there's no more work to process? I periodically check my boinc to see how it's processing for SETI@HOME and noticed there wasn't anything to process... There are sporadic bursts of resends (tasks not reported in time) and for a few days now also additional replications for tasks that have been in progress for a long time (e.g. 1 month) even with deadline weeks away. If you're lucky, you'll get some. |

As promised, we've stopped the process that puts new data into the queue today. Data distribution will continue until the files shown on the status pages are done. We'll be accepting results and resending results that didn't validate for a while. . . There is NO new work being split but occasionally some resends as we clear up the outstanding tasks. . . The project is in "Hibernation" ... :( . . NB If you are now considering shutting down your rig could you please help the project by doing a project reset or aborting any unprocessed tasks? {edit} I just peeked and you are clear, but I thought it worth leaving the request for anyone else who might think of leaving the project. Stephen :( |

I just fired up my windows box and it went out and downloaded a bunch of CPU and gpu tasks. All resends but then that is what I expected when I went ahead and left S@H "idling". Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Heard my computer fan go on, moved the mouse, it went back off. Wait a minute! It's doing tasks. |
