From American Thinker..I have posted some of the article but I encourage everyone to read it in it's entirety.
Have done & even bookmarked it, so thanks for the link.
Sadly, it has taken a potentially deadly pandemic to expose the EU's (note, NOT the European continent), major flaws. Unlike Poland, Brussels cannot chastise us AS we are out.

What do you call a bunch of older men who organise a contest called "Look of the Year" when the contestants were girls and in one year it was reported the average age was 15.

It's not new.

The powerful often think their flakiness is normal.

It is always more than sad. :(

Perhaps contraception failed and at least one can still be brought to justice.

I hope that no young girl \ woman finds themselves in a situation where they get pregnant before they are fully prepared to make that choice for themselves.

Fed slashes rates to near zero, eases bank lending rules

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Federal Reserve took emergency action Sunday and slashed its benchmark interest rate by a full percentage point to nearly zero and announced it would purchase more Treasury securities to encourage lending to try to offset the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. The central bank said the effects of the outbreak will weigh on economic activity in the near term and pose risks to the economic outlook. The central bank said it will keep rates at nearly zero until it feels confident the economy has weathered recent events.

The Fed also said it will purchase $500 billion of Treasury securities and $200 billion of mortgage-backed securities to smooth over market disruptions that have made it hard for banks and large investors to sell Treasuries.

Is the Fed now out of tools?

I mean, does it really matter if money is free if you can't get within six feet of another person to spend it?!

This financial situation was not caused by a lack of liquidity but a lack of confidence in the Trump administration's ineptness in dealing with the global pandemic. It stared when the Trump administration fired the U.S. pandemic response team in 2018 to cut costs.

Methinks when the US markets open tomorrow much more will be sold off. I refuse to look at my Edward Jones accounts. I'll ride this out but it's never going back the the previous bubble levels. I have enough cash on hand so even if Soc Sec goes away tomorrow, which it won't, I can live OK for a couple of years before I'd have to sell something.

What will happen because of the collapsing Chinese manufacturing sector and the selling off of Russian assets is the question.

No it is not, the answer is a world wide recession, there is no question from those who have a modicum of understanding macro economics.

We have already entered the world wide recession. The only questions left are the length and depth of the recession or will it be a depression. In all cases caused by it being called fake by the faker in chief.

No we haven't it takes 2 quarters of decline in a row to be a recession by definition to be a recession, this is just the 1st quarter.
Other than that Gary you are correct.

The news from the Far East says, the markets were not impressed with the Feds stimulus,
“Despite whipping out the big guns,” the Fed’s action is “falling short of being the decisive backstop for markets,” said Vishnu Varathan of Mizuho Bank in a report. “Markets might have perceived the Fed’s response as panic, feeding into its own fears.”

It does not take a crystal ball to know that the next quarter will also be decline. Also the definition only can be applied after the fact.
