Okay, I've installed Linux Mint Cinnamon v19.2 to a USB... now what could go wrong?

I've decided to tinker with Linux Mint Cinnamon v19.2, and I'm somewhat successful. But... I've downloaded and installed Mint to a virgin USB thumb drive and booted to the same, I am running it on the thumb drive instead of my SSD. Only thing, Mint does not recognize my GPU which is a 2060. I wonder if this is because I'm using a USB instead of the SSD? But then, in Linux (before I downloaded Mint) I couldn't get my screen to show anything other than 1024x768 w/4:3 resolution. I even tried downloading a different driver specifically for Linux but it didn't work, said the driver was corrupt. My SETI account does show Linux Mint as a second computer with a new ID, though no tasks yet because it just began. Never used a USB for running Linux, less so for mint. Obviously there is no driver installed for the GPU. So you need to find a way to do that. Maybe Stephen? I think he runs linux from a stick. Just a different filesystem compared to what you are used to seeing with DOS and Windows. A better, more advanced filesystem that might be compared to the standard NTFS filesystem of Windows. Once you get it running, open the Manager Options menu >> Other options and select the "Run the client" checkmark. Changes you make in the live session are not permanent. They are not written to the USB stick (or DVD) and they do not impact the system installed by the installer. Some applications work differently (or not at all) in the live session (Timeshift, Flatpak, Update Manager, Welcome Screen..etc.).
