I've been trying different colas that I haven't had in years, and am drinking an RC. ~Haven't had that in forever. It's not bad. It tastes kind of like a less fizzy Pepsi to me a little bit. I doubt I'll get it again, but I just wanted to try it. I also have gotten some Dr. Pepper recently, and really like that. It's distinctive, and seems more carbonated than either Coke or Pepsi. At least that's what my nose feels like after a glug.

I found this interesting -

Very interesting. I did not know that piece of Swedish history. Thank you, Moomin.

And a quote from the article link you posted is also true -

The famous creative brief was to design a “bottle so distinct that you would recognize it by feel in the dark, or lying broken on the ground.”

Actually when I was a kid I won 6 bottles of Coca Cola in a lottery when spending some summertime on a beach here.
Since then I doesn't like Coca Cola anymore:)

My favourite non-alco beverage would have to be coffee.

Other than that I find that all soft drinks (sodas to some) to be far too sweet for my liking, but I will have half strength cordial (squash to some) either on it's own or as a mixer for my spirits. ;-)

Cheers.

Ha, ha, yes, I know you've expressed your dislike of craft beers that tend to veer toward a sweeter flavor. ;~)

What can I say Gordon?

I'm a sweet person to start with so I don't need any added sugar to make me more so. :-D

Cheers.

I did not know that piece of Swedish history.
Not only that.
In 1767, Englishman Joseph Priestley first discovered a method of infusing water with carbon dioxide to make carbonated water.
Then soon after that Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius came up with an idea.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B6ns_Jacob_Berzelius
Berzelius is considered, along with Robert Boyle, John Dalton, and Antoine Lavoisier, to be one of the founders of modern chemistry.
He experimented extensively with beverage compositions, and began to mix carbonated water with various spice extracts, juices and wine.
The various flavored drinks he made created the conditions for the modern soft drink - which is thus a Swedish invention.
Basic Science can often give some surprising spin-off effects:)

THAT is the one juice that A.) I CANNOT take due to medicine conflicts, and B.) have NEVER liked anyway... Too sour.

But, more power to you. 😀

Yes, I've heard that about grapefruit juice being a problem with certain medications. And yes, it can be tart and sour, but I do like it. I tend to drink it in the morning, and orange the rest of the day. I always buy the frozen concentrate and mix with water. ~That's the cheapest and it's always tasted really good to me, and I can control how powerful or weak I make it depending on how much water I add to the pitcher.

I just can't stand grapefruit juice, I can tolerate some orange juice, but I generally don't drink either.

No, though I do take 1 vitamin C tablet @ 500mg a day.

My ice water -

My orange juice -

Actually in Scandinavia it's very good. And many other countries as well.
No need to go to a store buying bottled water.
Still many does that. Weird...
