I was at work, early... I'd been at a new job in San Ramon, CA; at 6:02 AM Pacific another colleague, (listening to her radio), and a supervisor told me what happened. Our office had T1 or faster so I pulled up live video from the web - I couldn't believe what I was watching. My parents were out of the country, the news stated that ALL planes in the air were being ordered to ground and at that moment all I could think about was would they be able to get home safe.... Where were you??? TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

17 years ago I happened to get ready for work early. So I turn on the news. I never watched the morning news. The first plane had just hit. We still thought it was an accident. It was not until later that the second plane hit and reporters started to say it was an attack. God rest all of those who died as a result. |

Just sat down to eat breakfast.... Turned the TV in to NBC's TODAY show. A few minutes later they interrupted the show (which was on a 1 hour tape delay) to say that there was unconfirmed reports of a plane hitting one of the World Trade Center Towers. About 30 minutes later my boss called and said "Work has been canceled for today and not sure about tomorrow. Might know more later in the day". I saw the second place slam into the second tower on live TV as many people across the USA probably did too. 9-11-2001 is a day I will never forget! |

Alarm clock radio came on to the news station, first plane had hit. Jumped up turned on the TV. Watched the second plane hit, but wasn't awake enough to realize it wasn't a replay. Then it sank in. Called and woke up my good friend. Had him turn on the TV. At the time worked on an anti-terrorism task force at LAX. He knew he had to get to work so that call was rather short. He spent the next several days working double shifts. |

Where were you??? I was working at AAA, making a Trip-Tik for a member, and the tv volume in the lobby was muted, but the pictures caught people's attentions, so we turned it up. 9/11/01 didn't really affect my future choice of travel methods, but I will say I haven't been on a plane since 2000. At work. Started at 5 am. So I didn't know much about it until I got home and started watching tv. |
