Page, who worked as special counsel to then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, admitted to the House Judiciary and Oversight committees that much of what she knew about the hierarchy of orders and decision-making in the Clinton probe was secondhand.
From WaPo
Therefore would not stand up in court.

Will future historians (if any alive) look back & state: here was the spark.
Nonetheless, many US allies are unhappy with Mr Trump's whole approach to international affairs, as was apparent at the conference.
Future uncertain or rosy?

‘Apprentice’ contestant’s Trump defamation suit can proceed
NEW YORK (AP) — A New York appeals court has ruled that President Donald Trump isn’t immune from a defamation lawsuit filed by a former “Apprentice” contestant who accused him of unwanted kissing and groping.

A state Supreme Court Appellate Division panel issued its ruling Thursday in a case brought by Summer Zervos.

The decision lets Zervos’ suit proceed and increases the prospect that Trump could have to sit for sworn questioning.

Zervos was among over a dozen women who emerged during Trump’s 2016 campaign with allegations of sexual misconduct years earlier. He called the women liars.

Trump’s lawyers have said the case shouldn’t go forward while he’s in office. They also say his comments were opinions and protected free speech. They say they plan to issue a response Thursday afternoon.

Zervos’ lawyers say Trump’s words were factual falsehoods that subjected her to threats.

Explosive revelations in Russia saga add up to a bad day for Trump
Analysis by Stephen Collinson, CNN
Updated 1:09 AM ET, Thu March 14, 2019

(CNN)It would be hard to think of a more damaging day for a President than one on which his former campaign chairman disappeared behind bars for years to come. But Paul Manafort's new sentence was the least of Donald Trump's worries Wednesday as his Russia investigation nightmare took yet another turn for the worse.
New suspicions about dangled pardons, conflicting congressional testimony, implicit pleas for clemency and fresh suggestions of inappropriate presidential behavior delivered a new twist to the drama with Washington already on edge in anticipation of special counsel Robert Mueller's final report.

A new firestorm erupted over disputed assertions that ex-acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker did not deny in a closed congressional meeting that he had spoken with President Donald Trump about a case involving Trump's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen.
CNN reported explosive new revelations involving Cohen's allegation that a pardon had been dangled in exchange for him staying loyal to the President, in which he was purportedly told he could be sure he had "friends in high places."

Both new angles on the Russia intrigue came on the day that a judge added to the prison sentence of Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, after he was snared in Mueller's investigation. He faces a total of 7.5 years in prison.
For the second time in a week, a Manafort's attorney emerged from a sentencing hearing and appeared to twist a judge's words in a way that raised suspicions he was bolstering Trump's claims that there was "no collusion" in return for a pardon for his client.

Have the worms turned?
WaPo - Senate votes to reject Trump’s emergency declaration, setting up president’s first veto

Breaking news: A group of Senate Republicans joined Democrats on Thursday to approve a disapproval resolution aimed at overturning President Trump’s declaration of an emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The measure, which already passed the House, now heads to Trump. The president has promised to veto the legislation and effectively kill it, as the president’s critics lack the votes to override him.

Trump declared a border emergency last month to fund the construction of barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, accessing funding Congress refused to give him during a standoff that caused a 35-day government shutdown.

This story will be updated.

Get ready for the B.S. to hit the fan.

National emergency vote: Senate Republicans on track to rebuke Trump on marquee campaign issue.

For the second time in two days, Republican senators will join with Democrats to support a measure the White House opposes -- first on Wednesday to end military support for Saudi Arabia in the civil war in Yemen, followed by Thursday's vote to terminate the national emergency.
And the more B.S. will probably follow.

Mnuchin: 'I will comply with the law' on releasing Trump tax returns.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday said he would obey the law if he receives a written request from Congress to turn over President Donald Trump's tax returns.
"I will consult with the legal department within Treasury, and I will comply with the law," Mnuchin said when asked by Texas Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett on whether he would release the returns.
Trump has refused to release his tax returns, breaking presidential precedent.
More interesting times ahead.

No BS hitting any fan.

Trump Vetoes.

Insufficient votes to over ride in either house.

Order stands.

Court issues injunction to stop implementation.

Administration files for stay on the injunction.

Stay granted until reviewed by higher court and upheld.

Suit proceeds to SCOTUS.

SCOTUS upholds Emergency Declaration as it's power was granted to the President by the Congress and has been used by past Presidents.

2 years wasted........hundreds of lawyers enriched..........nothing changed.

Business as usual in the DC toilet.

Perhaps SCOTUS finds the power to allocate funds is vested in the Congress, specifically starting in the House.

This is where you have no idea what SCOTUS will say on this case as the facts show the immigration levels are 1/3 of those in 2008.
Since the Marbury v. Madison, SCOTUS can, and will, consider whether a law itself is violating the Constitution. If they find that The National Emergencies Act allows a president to violate the separations of powers provisions; then they might very well strike down sections of the law.

Absolutely correct. And they might also uphold the action due to precedence. In many opinions SCOTUS has refused to interfere in the implementation of various statutes stating that it is not their place to legislate. They have on those occasions suggested that the law needs to be changed by the body empowered to do so, despite the fact that body repeatedly refuses to address the inequities caused by the laws they have passed (i.e. immigration law reform and DACA).

@ Mr Byron Leigh, nice fluff opinion piece straight from the CNN opinion factory. Conjecture ("Many have wondered why the President seems so comfortable with Russian President Vladimir Putin or the leaders of Saudi Arabia and North Korea. he envies the power they have to impose their will and repress their people. He does not share a commitment to democratic values that most American cherish. He looks upon authoritarian regimes with a palpable admiration."), is always the friend of those stirring the pot for their own ratings.

Putin says the same.
"I have the support of the police,
the support of the military,
the support of: Notjnie Volki (Night Wolfes) for Putin.
I have tough people, but they don't play it tough
until they go to a certain point and then it would be very, very bad."

Interesting to see that both Trump and Putin have so much in common...

Breitbart is too uncomfortably close to the Infowars sewer for my liking. :^p

I see CNN has taken a beating recently as well, way out of the circle.
