Brett Kavanaugh and his staff reportedly sent text messages to cover up indecent exposure allegations. ITâ€™S just going from bad to worse for Brett Kavanaugh. The FBI is investigating claims made by Christine Blasey Ford that the Supreme Court nominee sexually assaulted her in the 1980s. Last week, a separate report claimed he exposed himself during a drunken dormitory party in the same period, with various former classmates now publicly weighing in on his alleged out-of-control drinking habits in detail. And now it has emerged that Mr Kavanaugh and his staff were allegedly sending text messages to silence reports of indecent exposure â€” before the story had even broken.... ....But itâ€™s now emerged that Mr Kavanaugh, 53, and his staff were reportedly sending text messages to former Yale classmates to underplay these allegations â€” before the story was actually published. The messages, obtained by NBC News, were reportedly sent between two of Mr Kavanaughâ€™s friends, Kerry Berchem and Karen Yarasavage. They suggest he may have reached out to his classmates to minimise Ms Ramirezâ€™s claims. In one message, Ms Yarasavage said Mr Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record to defend him. Another two messages show communication between Mr Kavanaughâ€™s team and former classmates before The New Yorker story broke, suggesting Mr Kavanaugh knew about Ms Ramirezâ€™s allegations in advance. Trump has drawn a line in the sand on the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, saying if the judge lied to Congress then he would have issues with him as well. â€œI donâ€™t think you should lie to Congress and there are a lot of people over the past year who have lied to Congress,â€ he said. â€œFor me, that would not be acceptable.â€ Mr Trump said it was â€œa scary time for young menâ€ who could become subject of false accusations. He suggested it was troubling that people were found â€œautomatically guiltyâ€ and had to prove their innocence. His comments came as text messages from Mr Kavanaughâ€™s former Yale classmates reportedly show that the judge did lie when asked if he had prior knowledge about a second womanâ€™s sexual misconduct claims. And, New York tax department reviewing reported allegations against Trump. Trump, who has long claimed to be a self-made billionaire, along with his siblings, allegedly helped hide millions in gifts from their parents using fake corporations to hide the money, according to a report in The New York Times. The paper outlined a series of alleged schemes and â€œoutright fraudâ€ deployed by Trump and his family in order to transfer money and evade tens of millions in taxes.
