Would Dr Ford have pursued this 36 years after the event had Kavanaugh been an average run-of-the-mill nobody?

Sirius, the answer is no. She clearly stated that the point of that was to keep him off the court, based upon her experience his morality should disqualify him.
& does her morality disqualify her from teaching? Just saying that there is always two sides to a coin.

Sirius, where does that come from? You are the first person i have heard who questions her morality. Is that Clyde like speculating or do you have a basis?

slut shaming. I thought you were better than that. I'd expect that from another brit and you know who.

what he did 36 years ago might not be relevant, except it is a serious felony (in some states life sentence and in places even capital) and felons can't have bar licenses, but lying about it 36 years later is absolutely relevant and a felony and shows extreme lack of character needed to serve to the position he has been nominated to. (I can assure you if he gets confirmed he will be shunned by the other justices)

Now as to the misdemeanor of under age drinking while a minor, well, when the person turned 18 that would have been sealed and university instructors are not subject to morals clauses like K-12 are.

BTW who or what kind of person or why does a person keep a calendar for 36 years? All those margin marks? Conquests to be fondly remembered?!

Sirius, where does that come from? You are the first person i have heard who questions her morality. Is that Clyde like speculating or do you have a basis?
Now you are the one speculating! I for one, am fully aware of what alcohol does to a person especially to one's memory.

I think you like most have one data point on that issue of memory, your own. One also has to realize what to you might be heavy could be an inconceivable amount to another, or put the other way a couple of pints might be someone's idea of heavy. There wasn't a BAC taken so how can you begin to ascribe effects on memory? However the good buddy said he and nominee drank to blackout, that is a real datum.

I'll add an antidote, a good friend woke up in a military hospital with his hands bandaged and handcuffed to the bed. He is a nice sweet gentle person. Seems he got himself drunk and a universal a-hole jerk pissed him off and he proceeded to mop the floor, walls and the ceiling with him. Everyone reacts differently to booze, but I very well could see booze and the nominee going ape.

Repeatedly drinking to blackout, you belong in AA. The nominee's friend did. Did the nominee or is he still a drunk?

Nothing whatsoever to do with my memory. However you did raise a good point regarding the amount consumed. The main point is that alcohol can cloud one's judgement, add in a considerable period of time - What is real & what is "perceived" to be real?

Edit:
Studies suggest that alcohol, when consumed at low to moderate levels, may have some health benefits. It can also produce feel-good effects, which is why many of us turn to it in social situations or during stressful times.

But the research is also clear about something else: When a person consumes alcohol above and beyond moderate levels, it can have damaging effects on the body and on the brain—both short-term and permanently. Some of those effects, like slurred speech and diminished memory, can be quite clear; others, like long-term cellular damage, may not be as obvious.

A glass of wine with dinner, a happy-hour beer after work, a cocktail (or three) on vacation: Alcohol is deeply ingrained in American culture, and, for many of us, it’s a normal part of our daily lives.

That's from an American site, it's just as ingrained here.

Last night, I was so transfixed by the televised hearing that I never got round to reading my morning newspaper. Tonight, I've been catching up.

One of the elements of Kavanaugh's testimony last night that it was hard to find fault with was his repeated comments about how he had deliberately recruited and promoted female staff to serve on his staff - in particular, as legal clerks in his judicial appointments.

Then I read Thursday's newspaper, printed and in my hands before the hearings started. A columnist wrote:

"It just may be that, as has been alleged, Kavanaugh insisted his clerks be pretty, that women look a certain way."

And the world lurched ever so slightly on its axis. Reads different now, doesn't it?

"Trump does the same.", the columnist continued. Which makes perfect sense.

President Donald Trump wrote:
Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him.
Yes, they're two peas in a pod. Angry, bombastic, surround themselves with pretty women. And neither, in my opinion, fit to hold high public office.

The very idea with a hearing is to get answers.
Only Ford made an effort to answer every single question.
Every time Ford and Kavanaugh dodged a question, in one chart
