That's ok :) Perhaps if I'd not been absent from the politics board for as long as I have been, my radar would have been more tuned-in. But, as I have so neatly demonstrated - it wasn't, and as I have also so neatly demonstrated, a picture is worth a thousand words ;) but whether they're the ones you mean is not always evident until you realise that what's in your mouth is what you thought you had left two of, on the floor.

Unfortunately there is a poster here serving up words and shoving them in mouths that never said those words. He does this by inserting the most vile filth he can dream up and then asking the people he put those words in their mouth why they support this with a binary logic question. I'd might say his tactic is: intended to annoy or antagonize other people, or to hijack a thread, and is deliberately hostile, threatening, or insulting. It is this you either are in lockstep with me or you are Hitler in charge of the Nazis that pisses people off, chases them out of the project. and is so very destructive and divisive. It is precisely what Putin is attempting, to break up America so he can pick it off one state at a time.

OB: Any bets on the Manafort trial? Tax evasion? Bank Fraud? Both? Post conviction plea/sentencing deal?

Other than the hot wind that some are creating here, maybe there's an alternative thread here that we can't see. ;-)

Interestingly (for those with short memories) prior to 2009, except for the Superbowl teams waited in the locker room until the anthem was done and then paraded out to the field. Starting then, the Department of Defense paid the NFL over $50 million over several years for signage, branded content, etc. to use football as a recruiting tool. This is when the rule was changed to mandate that players stand on the sidelines during the anthem for all games.

So it appears that one's "entertainment and relaxation" was already cynically co-opted for advertising purposes. The players are arguably the ones trying restore it to its former state of being just a sport again.
