Complete tasks and my RAC is going backwards, not a really good incentive.. What makes it worse is there is no dialog between us and the top notch, no well done on donations or computer time..Nothing!.. . . Volunteers do drop out, quite regularly, but many for reasons that have little to do with how the project is managed. . . The current server problems play havoc with RAC assessment, and it will take weeks to normalise once the problems are sorted out, but that is the nature of an undertaking like this. I'll refrain from discussing CreditScrew :) Stephen <shrug> |

Said in the most humble method possible: If the WU cache/deadline scenario was revamped most of us could easily ride out these issues, my fast GPU boxes run out of work fast! Being able to sustain my 1080/1070 boxes for 2 days would capture 95%+ of the server issues I'd bet. In any case, big thanks to the guys banging their heads against the table trying to get all of this fixed up. |

Gee Wiz, just look at the long list of BLC files queued up on the Server Stats Page. This from Eric in the News section. And you've probably noticed that we are out of Arecibo data. We don't have a good idea of when we'll get more. |

One of my systems was getting work, the other required 20-50 retries. Un- commented the Download server address in my problem system Host file, no more download issues.Just had the same thing happen here, with the new work. BOINC was trying vader (208.68.240.127) under round-robin DNS, and getting nothing back. I uncommented georgem (208.68.240.119), and got the stuck tasks immediately. Anyone else able to confirm current working / unworking IP addresses, before we wreck Eric's weekend? |

After Grant's post, I uncommented the SETI servers in my HOSTS file and immediately got work. Doesn't mean that it came down smoothly. Lots of download retries and backoffs. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The question was, WHICH download server is working or unworking? You can use <http_debug> in the log file to test for each individual download, but it generates a lot of waste data - turn it off again after use. |

Gee Wiz, just look at the long list of BLC files queued up on the Server Stats Page. . . Am I wrong or isn't that a reference to getting NEW Arecibo "tapes"? We have been rehashing old tapes with the new apps for quite a while now. But as they say "C'est la vie!" Stephen ? ? |

Great news for those who reschedule. No need for that anymore :-) . . If/when Arecibo work completely disappears that will certainly be true. But the app developers will probably be very, very busy trying to squeeze more juice out of their apps for running Blc tasks only ... since they can drop any code aimed at processing Arecibo type data files. Stephen :) |

Don't know. That post could be interpreted a couple of ways. No more reprocessing of old tapes or more likely no new data from Arecibo since it got damaged and status is questionable. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? So is that bit of analysis over? Nothing now but MBV8? "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? Until/unless a APv8 application comes out, or new data from Arecibo arrives. Grant Darwin NT |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? Maybe AP from Parkes. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |
